I was cumbered with the need to get answers to Xavier's words and Rex's but it was as though they both knew their words would leave me more confused than lectured, they disappeared from my sight.

I even opted to have dinner at the dining hall to push my luck and see if any of the brothers would walk past or join me at the table but on three occasions, I was disappointed.

After trying several times to ask the staff about Xavier's whereabouts or Rex's I gave up. Their response was either a look of surprise or indifference and the ones who managed to answer me would often tell me to go back to my room or not bother about their whereabouts.

"Your well-being is what you should be worried about, not the boss or his brother." The maid who usually attended to me answered me one of the days as she arranged my closet.

I nodded absently, thinking about why I should be more worried about my well-being.
