Xavier's avoidance of me continued from a daily occurrence to weekly and approaching a month without seeing Xavier in his room or having conversations with him. Conversations we normally had before the old man's issue became a thing.
Xavier was always so attentive, and he never wanted to stay away from me. Not for a minute, but now, it seemed like he was avoiding me at all costs, and as the days went by, it became unbearable for me.
The old man, on the other hand, had things going well for him in the pack. He finally got the respect of everyone, and all the pack members went to him for advice and help.
As the days went by, their trust and reliance on him grew with immeasurable bounds.
"They are going to sell their souls to him with the way things are going." Sofia commented one of the days when we saw the pack members struggling and fighting for who would go in first to see him.
