As the two stood at a standoff, voices from outside the door could be heard.
It was Sebastian talking to his colleague.
"Judge Windsor's back? You'd better get in there, your fiancée's here again." It was the same teasing voice that had spoken to Amara earlier.
The steady footsteps in the hallway suddenly quickened.
The office door swung open, and Sebastian walked in with a stern expression. "What are you doing here?
Didn't I tell you to let me know if you were coming to the courthouse?"
Amara glanced at him, then at Gloria, her face gradually turning pale. "I'm sorry, Seb. I was just passing by and felt a bit unwell, so I wanted to see you. I didn't expect Ms. Russell to be here. I was about to leave, but... Amara looked pitiful. "Ms. Russell, I've already forgotten about what happened three years ago and don't want to remember it. Please don't force me."
It was as if she was the one who had been wronged.
Gloria was caught off guard by her act.
