In her sleep, Gloria felt like she was falling endlessly.
A sudden sense of weightlessness made her heart race.
She snapped her eyes open, only to be met with pitch darkness. Gloria's heart leapt into her throat.
Was she back in the prison's solitary confinement?
She tried to move, but her limbs were so heavy that she couldn't lift them.
Every part of her body ached.
It felt like she had just been violently beaten.
Realizing this, Gloria's eyes widened in fear.
What was going on?
Hadn't she already been released from prison? Why? Why was she back here?
It couldn't be real. It had to be a nightmare!
She desperately tried to wake up from the dream, but she couldn't break free, not even able to lift a finger.
Gloria's despair grew, her eyes staring back blankly at the ceiling.
So, everything after her release was just a dream?
But why, even in a dream, was everything still so painful?
