The morning air in the grove was crisp, carrying the faint scent of damp earth and new growth. Lira stood at the edge of the rows of plants, the Shell of Equilibrium tucked safely in her bag, as the ancient Giant Tree Spirit's voice rumbled softly through the branches.
"Lira," it said, "there is another task for you. A trench must be dug, and a pool must be formed—not far from where you have planted. From the spring near my roots, fresh water will flow. It must be controlled, guided, and gathered. But be careful—the land shifts in places, and the spring's path is stubborn."
Lira nodded. "I understand," she said, already scanning the grove for the best spot. She could see the gentle trickle of the spring curling out from the roots of the giant tree. The water shimmered with a green-blue glow, alive with the energy of the grove.
Before she could even begin, Renkai and Thalanir appeared at her side, both eager, both trying to claim her attention first.
