Body Sect.
When Du Bushi returned here with several half-dead Titled Douluo in tow, the Golden Body Douluo who had been left behind to guard the sect was utterly shocked.
"Sect Master, what in the world happened?" Golden Body Douluo stared at Du Bushi in disbelief.
Du Bushi was a level ninety-eight Super Douluo. He had left with five Titled Douluo at his side. Other than an Ultimate Douluo, who else on the continent could possibly force them into such a miserable state??
Du Bushi's expression was extremely dark. He said coldly to Golden Body Douluo:
"Bring the healers! As for the details, I'll explain later."
Golden Body Douluo cast another glance at the grievously injured group behind him, his face turning uglier by the second.
Although the Body Sect only recruited disciples with Body Martial Souls, its leaders understood the importance of treatment, so the sect also retained healing-type soul masters.
Golden Body Douluo acted quickly, immediately summoning the healing soul masters to tend to the wounded.
The least-injured Titled Douluo was the first to awaken. The moment he regained consciousness, however, his expression turned blank—an emptiness spreading within his body.
Seeing that look, Du Bushi immediately understood he had sensed the seal. Just as Du Bushi was about to calm him, the man suddenly cried out:
"Sect Master! That brat… he knows the Beast God, Di Tian!"
His words caused the entire great hall of the Body Sect to fall into absolute silence.
Golden Body Douluo and Du Bushi both froze in shock. Du Bushi recovered first, quickly asking:
"Which brat? Make yourself clear!"
"The silver-haired brat! He knows the Beast God, Di Tian! The seal on me—it must have been done by Di Tian at his request!"
Du Bushi's face grew ashen.
The Beast God, Di Tian… the strongest being on the continent! How could that brat Jiang Shengyu possibly have any connection with him?
But the man had no reason to lie.
"Di Tian… how could it be… impossible. How could it be? He's just a child…" Du Bushi muttered to himself, struggling to accept the truth.
Golden Body Douluo still hadn't made sense of the situation. Hadn't Du Bushi simply gone to bring back a genius with a Body Martial Soul? How had the Beast God Di Tian suddenly been dragged into this?!
"If the seal truly was set down by Di Tian… then this old man is powerless."
After a long silence, Du Bushi could only sigh. He had originally planned to try breaking the seal once they returned to the Body Sect.
But if it was Di Tian's handiwork, then even if the Body Sect exhausted all its strength, they would never be able to undo it.
"Sect Master, we…" Golden Body Douluo and the sealed man both looked at Du Bushi, not knowing what to do.
Du Bushi thought for a moment, then spoke solemnly to the sealed man:
"Rest assured, your cultivation still remains. There will be a chance to restore it! I give you my word. For now, focus on recovery. I will make a trip to Shrek."
"Shrek? But… Sect Master, our Body Sect's relationship with Shrek Academy…" Golden Body Douluo looked astonished.
"That brat has gone to Shrek Academy. I must go and test the waters."
Turning back, Du Bushi instructed Golden Body Douluo:
"When the others awaken, explain everything to them. Tell them not to panic. Their cultivation will return."
Golden Body Douluo nodded respectfully.
"Yes, Sect Master!"
With everything arranged, Du Bushi immediately set out toward Shrek Academy.
When Yan Shaozhe led Jiang Shengyu's group back to Shrek Academy, the ones waiting to greet them at the gates were only Jiang Qingtong, Wang Dong'er, and a few others who were on good terms with her.
By now, Wang Dong'er had resumed her female appearance and was staying in the dorm room that had once belonged to Xiao Xiao.
Seeing how desolate the welcoming party was, Xiao Hongchen couldn't resist a jab:
"Shrek Academy is this deserted? Is there no one left? Should we ask the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy to lend you some students to fill up the numbers?"
Hearing this, Yan Shaozhe glanced back at him but said nothing.
From Dai Huabin and the others who had returned from the Soul Master Tournament, he already knew that Xiao Hongchen was sharp-tongued.
Still, he hadn't expected the boy to be bold enough to spout such words here, at Shrek's gates no less.
Though annoyed, Yan Shaozhe kept up a polite front, smiling apologetically as he explained:
"My apologies, children. At this hour, all of the academy's students are in class. As teachers, we cannot allow their studies to be disrupted."
"Mm! Talents should indeed focus on study. Unlike Qingtong, sneaking out to wait for us… she looks every bit the slacker." Xiao Hongchen nodded earnestly, echoing Yan Shaozhe's words.
Yan Shaozhe's smile froze. Without replying, he simply led the group further toward the academy gates.
Meng Hongchen, however, had already quickened her pace, rushing ahead to throw her arms around Jiang Qingtong.
"Qingtong, we can finally cultivate together again!"
"Welcome to Shrek Academy!" Jiang Qingtong greeted Meng Hongchen warmly, then offered a polite welcome to Xiao Hongchen and the others as well.
Hearing this, Xiao Hongchen sneered:
"You say that like you're the mistress of this place! Qingtong, don't forget—we're from the Sun Moon Empire. Ask this Dean Yan yourself—do you live here? Do you have the right to welcome us?"
Yan Shaozhe merely looked at Xiao Hongchen as he said this and made no move to stop him.
In truth, he wanted Jiang Qingtong to see more of the Sun Moon Empire's true face, so she might feel a deeper sense of belonging to Shrek.
Jiang Qingtong, watching Xiao Hongchen spout such words without hesitation, turned to Meng Hongchen and asked softly:
"Has he always been like this?"
"You still don't know my brother? He's always been like this!" Meng Hongchen rolled her eyes, exasperated.
Jiang Shengyu also nodded in agreement. He added lightly to Jiang Qingtong:
"As for Xiao Hongchen, well… I beat him silly once, so just be understanding."
Xiao Hongchen froze, his head tilting as if struck by lightning.
What did Jiang Shengyu mean by that?
Wasn't this all supposed to be an act?
How could this thick-browed, "upright" Jiang Shengyu suddenly stab him in the back?
Weren't they supposed to be brothers-in-arms who once set fire together?!
By then, Ai Cao and several other soul engineer students had also gathered around Jiang Qingtong to greet her. In terms of social bonds, the Jiang siblings actually maintained fairly good relations with many of the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy's students.
After all, even Xiao Hongchen had been part of those efforts to bridge friendships.
Watching the groups exchange greetings, Yan Shaozhe addressed Jiang Shengyu and the others again:
"Come with me to Sea God Island. Elder Xuan is waiting for you there! Also, your future arrangements will be decided on the island."
"Can we come along too, Dean Yan?" Jiang Qingtong asked with her head raised.
"I want to go as well!" Wang Dong'er immediately added her request.
