Chapter 88 - DSMW [88]

A Rank 1 Xyz Summon using three Level 1 monsters—this new form emerged from the overlay of three cards, a black Rank 1 Xyz card floating at Aisha's fingertips.

"I summon a survival path for the weak through the light of Xyz! Rank 1, Xyz Summon—[Baby Tiragon]!"

[Baby Tiragon] Rank 1│EARTH│Dragon│900 DEF

[Materials: 3 Level 1 monsters.]

A Dragon to battle a Dragon. But the newly materialized [Baby Tiragon] on Dark Aisha's field was cuter than fearsome when compared to the massive [First of the Dragons].

Its combat power was also "adorable"—an Xyz Monster summoned with three Level 1 monsters, yet only boasting half the Attack of [Sylvan Princessprite], which required just two.

Clearly, Dark Aisha didn't intend to use [Baby Tiragon] as a combat breaker.

Once summoned, [Baby Tiragon] was placed in Defense Position—an Xyz Summon in Defense Position.

"Then I Normal Summon—[Rose Lover] in Attack Position!"

[Rose Lover] Level 1│EARTH│Plant│800 ATK

A beautiful monster with flowing golden hair and a refined aura, distinct from that of [Sylvan Princessprite], with an impressive 800 Attack for a Level 1 monster.

"Next, I activate the Spell I added earlier with Princessprite's effect—[Gift of the Martyr]!"

[Send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard. Then target another monster you control; it gains ATK equal to the sent monster's ATK until the end of the turn.]

"Sacrifice one to pass on the power of vengeance!"

Dark Aisha's [Sylvan Princessprite], with no remaining Xyz Materials, shattered as a monster image and was sent to the Graveyard.

"I add her 1800 Attack to [Rose Lover]!"

[Rose Lover, ATK: 800 → 2600]

The beautiful Plant-type [Rose Lover], now infused with [Sylvan Princessprite]'s power, became a monster with higher Attack than [Summoned Skull].

"2600 Attack, huh?" The real Aisha Carlos pointed out, "But my [First of the Dragons] has 2700 Attack, so it's still stronger!"

"Who said I was going to fight you head-on?"

Summoning complete, Dark Aisha curled her lips into a cold smirk—a cruel smile that never appeared on the real Aisha's pure face.

Granted, it still lacked the brazen smugness Miles usually pulled off. Not everyone could pull off duelist-grade expressions on a cute girl's face. That's a skill, too.

"I detach [White Duston] from [Baby Tiragon] to activate its effect!"

[During your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Level 1 monster you control; it can attack your opponent directly this turn.]

"Using [Baby Tiragon]'s effect, I grant [Rose Lover] the ability to attack directly!"

The Rank 1 [Baby Tiragon] was built specifically to support Level 1 monsters. Once activated, the cute little dragon lifted [Rose Lover] onto its head.

[Rose Lover, ATK: 2600]

[Aisha Carlos, LP: 2500]

Though [Rose Lover] didn't exceed the First Dragon's Attack, its power now surpassed Aisha's remaining Life Points.

And thanks to the effect of bypassing the First Dragon, this direct attack could be fatal.

A beautiful woman—often more dangerous than rose thorns.

"This is the difference between you and me. Sorrow, pain, and despair gave me real growth. Now end it, [Rose Lover]—direct attack! 'Wall of Thorns'!"

With her frail arms, the girl drew back a seemingly delicate bow—but the arrow it loosed could tip the scales of fate itself.

"Vengeance born from despair—that's not real growth!"

Aisha stared down the oncoming arrow, not even blinking in fear.

"True growth is having the courage to face darkness and despair, and the resolve to endure pain!—I activate the Continuous Trap—[Krystal Avatar]!"

A radiant warrior-like crystal figure materialized before Aisha, gleaming like a diamond.

[When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack, if its ATK is greater than your LP: Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Warrior / LIGHT / Level 4 / ATK = your LP / DEF = 0).]

"When I'm facing a direct attack stronger than my remaining LP, [Krystal Avatar] activates! It Special Summons itself with Attack equal to my LP!"

Miles had found this C-rank Spell Trap among obscure card listings—its power was oddly nuanced.

"Nuanced" because of its strict conditions: it had to be a lethal direct attack.

But when triggered, it delivered a counterstrike rivaling B-rank cards like [Magic Cylinder].

[Krystal Avatar] Level 4│LIGHT│Warrior│2500 ATK / 0 DEF

Aisha continued, "After being Summoned, [Krystal Avatar] redirects the direct attack to itself!"

[Rose Lover]'s 2600 ATK met [Krystal Avatar]'s 2500—only a 100-point gap.

CRACK—!

The radiant avatar shattered in a sharp crash of light.

[Aisha Carlos, LP: 2500 → 2400]

"Tch! Using a Trap like that just to cling to life?!" Dark Aisha cursed, frustrated.

"It's not clinging—it's my counterattack! [Krystal Avatar]'s final effect activates: when destroyed by battle, it deals damage to your opponent equal to its Attack!"

"What?! Aaaaaaaaah!"

The lingering light burst forth, carrying Aisha's will as a final strike, blasting her dark self across the room. The slender body rolled several times across the stone floor.

[Aisha Carlos (Dark), LP: 4000 → 1500]
