Chapter 576 - DSMW [576]

Precisely because it was forged by humanity, the god-slaying weapon [Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder] is a Machine monster.

This time the roaring current surged from inside ZEUS itself. The overload pushed the steel body past its limits, doubling its Attack.

Boom!

Thunder echoed as the sky and the steel body resonated together—the release of ZEUS's determination at this moment.

Limiter Removal. Even if the price to be paid was its own destruction at the end of the turn, there was no hesitation.

Compared with the ten thousand years of regret after failing to strike back, the pain of overloading its mechanical body was insignificant.

This time, the thunder that surpassed its limits would absolutely drive away the calamity of destruction with the will of humanity!

"I copy the Quick-Play Spell [Limiter Removal]'s effect and activate it! Double the Attack of [Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder]!"

[Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder, ATK: 3000 → 6000]

After the limiter was released, lightning crackled even through the joints of ZEUS's mechanical frame.

"Hahaha!" Zepha laughed arrogantly. "A suicidal strike from a god-slaying weapon? Useless, completely useless! Even with doubled Attack, you cannot surpass the power of the Numeron god!"

ZEUS's Attack had doubled from 3000 to 6000, surpassing the previously known maximum printed Attack of Duel Monsters—5000.

But the opponent in this battle could not be judged by common sense. Even that so-called "known limit" had already been shattered by the ten-thousand Attack of the Numeron god.

[Number C1000: Numerounius] was not an opponent that could be defeated with a single Limiter Removal.

"If one Limiter Removal isn't enough—then release the limiter again! ZEUS!"

"Bakana!!"

Miles' declaration froze Zepha's arrogant smile.

There was still one final face-down card in Miles' back row.

If that unknown card was also…

"No one ever said you can only steal a card once!"

Miles flipped the last set card. The sneering grave-robbing goblin on the card seemed to mock the chaos guiding the calamity.

"Second Trap Card [Graverobber], activate!"

Miles, the founder of the Carlos-style tactics. Aisha, the second-generation successor. Now that the two of them had fused together, having two stealing cards in the Deck was only natural.

The second grave-robber dove into Zepha's Graveyard once more and stole the same card again.

Once again, the Quick-Play Spell—[Limiter Removal].

Although it looked like Limiter Removal had been stolen, the real effect of [Graverobber] was only to copy the effect of a card in the opponent's Graveyard.

In other words, even after being copied once, that [Limiter Removal] still remained in Zepha's Graveyard—waiting for Miles and Aisha's second [Graverobber].

"After breaking through the limit, release it again, AA-ZEUS!"

Boom!

Amid roaring thunder, the effects of two [Limiter Removal]s stacked together.

The Machine body was pushed into extreme overload. It was impossible to tell whether the thunder capable of tearing apart dimensions came from the storm clouds in the sky—or from ZEUS itself after the double limiter release.

But regardless of the process, the result was only one.

[Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder, ATK: 6000 → 12000]

The regret that had lasted ten thousand years and the unyielding will of steel had finally surpassed the world-ending Numerounius in Attack.

Standing within the roaring lightning, the overloaded mechanical body of ZEUS creaked violently with every movement.

Yet that destructive metallic noise echoing through heaven and earth sounded almost like—

"Mr. Miles, it sounds like ZEUS is roaring!"

"It is roaring," Miles replied solemnly. "If it doesn't roar now, then when would it?"

He remembered the moment long ago, within the ancient Egyptian desert ruins created inside the obelisk tower.

When the prehistoric weapon that had slept for ten thousand years awakened in response to his call… did its cold mechanical heart also long for this moment?

"Roar out all your power, ZEUS!"

No longer cold, the mechanical heart roaring with lightning now burned hotter than anything—the soul of a warrior awakened across ten thousand years.

"Double Limiter Release! This is AA-ZEUS's counterattack!"

With the declaration of the counterattack in the Battle Phase, ZEUS's Attack soared to 12000. A punch wrapped in limitless thunder locked onto Numerounius's 10000 Attack—and Zepha's remaining 2000 Life Points.

"This strike will end it, Zepha!"

The final collision arrived. The world-destroying light of chaotic numerals clashed violently with the thunder of humanity's ten-thousand-year will.

The shockwave spread. The light of their decisive clash within the divine duel illuminated the entire sky of the Spirit Continent, turning night into day.

The outcome of the collision was decided by the higher Attack. [Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder]'s thunderous punch crushed the light of destruction. Its steel body, on the verge of collapse from overload, charged forward and unleashed a counterattack that wagered everything.

"Ten thousand years apart! Grudges severed! Burst forth—God-Extinguishing Super Thunder!!"

Within the divine duel where battle effects were magnified countless times, the overwhelming thunder struck down with enough force to obliterate a god.

In that instant, a colossal pillar of lightning pierced straight through Numerounius's enormous body. And within that pillar appeared a figure formed of countless bolts of thunder… no, the image of a god.

With that final strike, the name bestowed upon [Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder] manifested—the shadow of Zeus, the supreme king of gods who commands lightning.

"AAAAAAAAAAH!"

As Zepha screamed under the wrathful thunder of Zeus, the Numeron god shattered within the lightning and its fragments scattered beneath the star-filled sky now bright as day.

[Number C1000: Numerounius] destroyed

A grudge spanning ten thousand years was severed by thunder. Beneath the starry sky stood the silver-white steel body of AA-ZEUS, reflecting in that moment the epic anthem of prehistoric humanity's unyielding resistance.
