Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Archive Log 12.1 Very welcoming hosts

Elderra Cosmic Circle 3607.

My travels were going splendidly. The entries in my archive log were being enriched with each venture and my knowledge of the infinite beings living in this cosmos grew larger by the visit.

I have already visited quite a few different kinds of life forms and amassed a lot of material. From this collective variety of subjects, the sentient humanoid life forms I observed so far provided the most data.

Although by themselves, they consist of a very wide number of different races, the humanoids proved to have many things in common between them, such as the concept of community and infrastructures.

For those reasons, I placed them at the top of my observation list and opted to visit more of them for my future entries.

Such a visit was one this Archive Log is dedicated to.

In one of the two inhabitant stars of the Redrick Civilization, with the given name of "Planet Rothgar", I reached a large settlement called a city by the natives.

As soon as I got close, I could detect many differences this settlement had compared to others I visited before.

This city was relatively bigger and more expansive than any other previous settlement, but the beings on top of its walls were significantly less than what was expected from something of its size and needs. That already struck me as odd as this kind of sentient humanoid beings liked to allocate their members evenly through their places, leaving not a corner of it unattended.

Instead of where I expected them to be spread, most of the beings were inside the walls or behind them in their buildings. Very few were out in the open walking.

In the entire area, only silence existed. The beings in this city were going through the motions of their everyday short life in a bizarre, confined way and with muted voices, if not speaking at all.

'Fascinating, a new kind of way of living, albeit a strange one" I thought.

Very eager to observe and record this entirely new sentients' choice of life, I proceeded towards their massive door with large strides.

When I got close, the beings atop the wall began shouting at me; their actions reminding me of past recordings.

It was strikingly similar to the introductory action of an already recorded, verbal and acceptance exchange of other races I visited in the past. Very interested in finding out if it was the same or if it had differences than the one I recorded, I followed through with what I learned, while at the same time I observed.

The next few actions proved to be the same as the ones recorded. I remained silent, staring at them as the beings atop the wall kept yelling at me. When they stopped shouting, I figured my speculation was accurate and that this exchange was the same as the one I previously recorded.

After a small period of quietness, the door finally opened, signaling the end of this exchange and me to be allowed to enter inside.

But amazingly, I was wrong this time. To falsely assumption about something was quite rare of me - at least it was before I started recording and archiving the infinite races - but every time it happened it turned out to be because of something new, of which I was unaware of, and also very much suitable to record.

When the door fully opened, a group of beings came rushing towards me. They were all wearing so much metal that for a moment I believed to had made a mistake in my directions and instead of visiting a humanoid race I ended up visiting some kind of robotic life forms.

They circled around me and pointed their metal cylindric weapons at me. One of them who had a few colorful pieces of metal on his shoulders shouted at me like the beings atop the wall.

I stayed silent, more focused on observing this new exchange's key gestures and vocal tones than answering it.

A few shouts later, that individual yelled at the others and immediately some took metal circular objects from their backs and put them around my ankles and wrists.

'There they weregiving me items, but I had none to give back to complete the proposed trade.' I thought, disappointed of having to lose the chance to be part of this exchange because of my negligence.

I assumed not giving back items they would take the ones given, but they didn't. Rather, they impatiently guided me inside, most of them stayed behind me while a couple were walking in front showing me the way.

Having already found a guide for this city, I was content to follow their lead, as I learned from experience that it was easier having one than walking aimlessly in their many streets. A guide was needed to reach the important places more efficiently.

Following them past the big door, and after passing many buildings along the way, they quickly brought me to a unique one. It was very different than the rest, which was apparent from the materials used for it. It was more robust and solid, signifying its importance. The guide once again proved its usefulness in such communities.

They didn't waste any of their time and brought me inside it.

My first impressions of such an important building were that it was darker and had fewer beings inside than expected.

They went on to take me deeper inside it, and I even got to walk down a long stair. Beyond it, I got to see many metal doors and rooms being used underground which got my interest going.

A hypothesis of this race having both surface and subterranean living courters fascinated me. If I was correct, then this would be my first ever recording of humanoids choosing to live this way.

In my exhilaration of a potentially new discovery, the guiding eventually ended, with me being brought to a metal room, darker than the rest I passed, and given a chair to sit. Before they left, my so far guides connected the metal circular objects on my hands and feet to my seat.

'They probably want me to wait here until they entertain me as the good hosts they are"

Not one to refuse their good intentions, I stayed put and waited, all the while thinking this exchange was progressing more swiftly than all the others I recorded before.
