Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Showing Off His Talents [I]

The small, childishly innocent Gu Qingli, with her jet-black phoenix eyes that seemed bottomless, was suddenly engulfed in an overwhelming aura of cold, murderous intent.

Han Jiao stared at Gu Qingli in shock, barely able to believe her eyes. The sweet, adorable little girl exuded an aura of power that could rival the heavens.

The immense pressure that descended upon them made the two guards tremble in fear.

The beauty of her phoenix eyes was laced with an unrelenting chill and murderous intent, sending a wave of icy coldness through their bodies.

They were utterly stunned—this could not be the same cute five-year-old girl they had seen just moments ago!

Gu Qingli's cold gaze swept over the two guards before her. She could endure being called useless and weak, could tolerate the limitations of her frail little body imposed by fate, but there was one thing she could never stand: anyone who dared harm her parents!

Her parents had showered her with boundless love and care, and she could not bear to see them suffer in any way.

A dragon has its scales—touch them, and you will die!

"Gu Qingli, you worthless fool! How did you do this?!"

Though Gu Qinglin was frightened, her curiosity got the better of her, and she asked the question.

Gu Qingli had no desire to respond, for after all, she was just a little girl. But how dare Gu Qinglin command others to harm her mother! She wasn't one to show mercy to children in such circumstances.

"Do you want to know? Then let me show you just how capable the Gu family's precious Spirit Illusionist can be!"

With a cold laugh, Gu Qingli unleashed a silver light that shot from her sleeve, speeding toward Gu Qinglin's face.

In a panic, Gu Qinglin reacted swiftly, rolling to the side and sending a faint white light from her fingertip to meet the silver light head-on.

Having cultivated for a little over a month, Gu Qinglin had just reached the rank of a One-Star Spirit Master, and her white spiritual energy was weak and pale in comparison to the more advanced energies.

For Spirit Illusionists, the higher the star ranking, the more intense and vivid their spiritual energy became. The same applied to Martial Sword Masters.

When the white light collided with the silver, there was a sharp hiss, and the white light dispersed, while the silver light continued forward, faintly accompanied by the sound of wind being split.

"Ah!"

Gu Qinglin let out a piercing scream, falling backward as something sharp pierced her shoulder. Looking up, she saw a thin silver thread connecting a silver needle, the other end wrapped around Gu Qingli's small, fair fingers.

With a flick of her finger, the silver needle was swiftly retracted, its speed akin to lightning.

"Spirit Illusionist, is this all you've got?"

Gu Qingli curled her lip in disdain, and four more silver rays shot out in an instant, aiming for the two startled guards.

The two guards, finally snapping to attention, unleashed two gusts of gray battle energy.

However, they were unable to halt the sharpness of the silver needles. They moved aside to dodge, but it was futile.

Each of them had one eye struck blind, and they let out screams of pain that sounded like pigs being slaughtered.

Han Jiao was completely stunned, never having imagined that such a young child like Gu Qingli could be so ruthless!

Seeing Gu Qingli's cold, unfeeling gaze fix upon her, Han Jiao trembled uncontrollably and took two steps back.

"Gu Qingli! How dare you harm my mother!"

Despite her young age, Gu Qinglin grit her teeth and endured the pain, refusing to shed a single tear.

Fiercely, she saw Gu Qingli advancing toward Han Jiao and immediately placed her small body in front of her mother, blocking the path.

"You dare harm my mother, so what do you think I would hesitate to do?"

A cold smirk appeared on Gu Qingli's face. In her past life, she had exterminated enemies without fear of death. What could she possibly fear now?

What a ridiculous joke! If it weren't for her young body, and the fact that she didn't want to be seen as a monster in others' eyes, she would never have allowed her parents to suffer in silence.
