Chapter 316 - Ten Years

Everyone soon exchanged their old gold, silver, and bronze coins for the Gringotts-issued Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts.

Mayor Luke of Hogsmeade, Mayor Greame of Bree, and Buttercup, owner of the Prancing Pony Inn, were among the first to deposit their fortunes in Gringotts, both to show support for their lord and to set an example for others.

Traveling merchants from other regions also readily accepted the new Gringotts currency. The Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts were beautifully crafted and clearly of high purity, their design intricate and elegant. They were so exquisite that they were worth collecting, let alone using as practical currency.

Thus, merchants quickly adopted the wizarding coins as a common medium of exchange and carried them to distant corners of Middle-earth.

Gradually, the Gringotts currency began circulating throughout Eriador, spreading even to Gondor and Rohan.

In time, Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts appeared even within Sauron's sphere of influence, in the far eastern barbarian lands.

The Gringotts of Middle-earth had no goblins. It was instead run entirely by Wizards. While relatively independent, it still operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Magic.

Most Wizards were now assigned to roles within the Ministry, Gringotts, or one of the new departments. Many became Aurors, employees of the Department of Magical Transportation, or clerks within the Ministry itself.

A few exceptionally talented Wizards remained at Hogwarts Castle to continue their studies, becoming wandmakers, potion masters, herbalists, or broomstick craftsmen.

The rest returned to their respective homes, spreading magic and progress across Sylas's territories.

Among them was a woman named Rose, skilled in spinning and weaving. She had been personally taught magical weaving techniques by Arwen herself.

After returning to Hogsmeade, Rose opened "Madam Rose's Robes Shop," specializing in creating exquisite fabrics and garments woven with magic. Her designs, influenced by her teacher Arwen, possessed an unmistakable elven grace, flowing, elegant, and filled with soft radiance.

In addition to ordinary clothing, Madam Rose also acquired spider silk spun from giant spiders and used it to craft luxurious robes and gowns.

Although these garments were expensive, they became immensely popular among the wealthy. Soon, her robes were exported to Rohan and Gondor, where they were prized by nobles and high officials alike.

After all, who could resist garments that were soft, comfortable, nearly indestructible, and breathtakingly beautiful?

As Madam Rose's magical skills grew, she even obtained dragon hides from the Castle's stores and used them to create enchanted clothing with resistance to magic, capable of withstanding ordinary spells.

Her creations earned her fame throughout the lands, and she became known as a master tailor of magic garments.

Meanwhile, Barliman Buttercup, the owner of the Prancing Pony Inn, returned from his studies at the Castle to resume managing his inn.

During his time at Hogwarts, he had received inspiration from Sylas and finally perfected the recipe for Butterbeer after a year of experimentation.

The drink quickly became the most popular beverage served at the Prancing Pony Inn.

Its flavor resembled creamy butter candy, but lighter and smoother, with a faint trace of alcohol. Though called "beer," it was really more of a sweet magical beverage, suitable for all ages.

Butterbeer's popularity soon spread beyond Bree and Hogsmeade, reaching the Shire, the Valley of the Fallen, and even Gondor, becoming one of the most famous drinks in Middle-earth.

Encouraged by this success, Butterbloom experimented further and created Flame Whiskey, a powerful magical spirit that sent a burning sensation through the throat and body, dispelling cold and fear, bolstering courage, and comforting those who were sorrowful or grieving.

This Flame Whiskey became a favorite among the Dwarves and Northern tribes, who bought it in large quantities, paying with heaps of gold.

Before long, Mr. Butterbloom had amassed a fortune and became the richest man in Bree.

Not stopping there, he went on to brew other magical beverages:

Giggle Water that made people laugh uncontrollably,

Giggle Water Plus that filled drinkers with sudden vigor, and

Bubble Water that caused people to hiccup tiny floating bubbles.

But the drink that made him most proud was his masterpiece, Dragon's Blood Brew.

As its name implied, it was brewed using a trace of real dragon's blood.

Because the ingredients were so rare, its production was extremely limited, and only a handful of people had ever tasted it.

The drink became Sylas's personal favorite, served exclusively at banquets in Hogwarts Castle.

This Dragon's Blood Brew possessed potent magical effects, enhancing both physical strength and magical power, and was regarded as one of Barlimin's greatest achievements.

Beyond Madam Rose and Mr. Barlimin, other Wizards also pursued their own paths of innovation.

Under Sylas's guidance, several inventive Wizards combined magic with craftsmanship to create all kinds of magical sweets, successfully reproducing treats like Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Exploding Bubble Gum, and Buzzbee Honey Candy.

With the production of flying broomsticks, it soon became a common sight to see people soaring through the skies above Bree, Hogsmeade, and Isengard, drawing gasps of wonder and envy from those watching below.

...

Ten years passed in the blink of an eye, bringing the world to the year 2960 of the Third Age.

On his old friend Bilbo's seventieth birthday, Sylas once again gifted him a bottle of the Elixir of Immortality as a celebration.

Thanks to the Elixir, Bilbo's appearance had hardly changed; only the wisdom and years reflected faintly in his eyes.

He spent most of his time in the Shire, living a cheerful, peaceful life, preparing his breakfast, second breakfast, morning tea, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and midnight snack each day.

In his leisure hours, he enjoyed sitting in his little garden, basking in the sunlight, puffing on his pipe, and reading the day's news.

From time to time, Bilbo would travel to Hogwarts Castle through the Floo Network.

Whenever he arrived, Sylas and Arwen would warmly invite him to stay for a while at the Castle.

One day, Sylas asked him half-jokingly,

"Bilbo, have you ever thought about becoming a Wizard?"

But Bilbo merely smiled, shook his head, and declined.

He was, after all, a Hobbit easily contented. Though he carried the adventurous spark of the Took bloodline, he also possessed the gentle, steady heart of the Baggins family.

He was perfectly satisfied with his quiet, simple life. Though he admired magic and found it wondrous, he had no burning desire to wield it himself.

Sylas respected Bilbo's choice, and, in truth, admired him all the more for it.

In Bilbo, he saw the purest essence of a Hobbit's heart, simple, uncorrupted, and profoundly kind.

This was the same hobbit who had once willingly given up the One Ring, something even the Maiar could not resist.

And now, faced with the lure of magic, Bilbo had once again turned away without hesitation.

It was no wonder, Sylas thought, that Bilbo had been destined to play a central role in the fate of Middle-earth.

Over the course of these ten years, the original five hundred Wizards had each found their own paths and grown in different directions.

Most were now mature adults, many having formed families.

Some had married fellow Witches or Wizards, while others had chosen ordinary spouses.

Yet, to everyone's surprise and delight, their children were all born with magical abilities, regardless of whether one or both parents were magical.

Encouraged by their Lord, nearly every Wizarding family had at least three children, ensuring the continuation of their magical bloodlines.

Furthermore, during this decade, Sylas conducted another grand selection, choosing another five hundred individuals to undergo bloodline fusion, successfully transforming them into Wizards as well.

Thus, his territories now held nearly three thousand Wizards in total, a thriving magical civilization under his rule.

But what surprised and delighted Sylas the most came one morning when Arwen gently placed a hand upon her abdomen, her eyes shimmering with quiet joy.

Her smile was radiant as she said softly,

"Sylas… congratulations. You're going to be a father."
