Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Born of Stone

Joseph awoke to the sound of waves and the scent of salt. Sunlight bathed his face as seabirds cawed from afar. He opened his eyes, and something clicked in his head—a strange clarity, like the moment you finally understand a puzzle.

He wasn't in his dark gaming den anymore. The sky was too blue. The air too fresh. And when he sat up, he was in a coastal villa overlooking the Hoenn sea. Marble floors. Verdant gardens. A Metagross napping in the courtyard.

He was in Hoenn.

And not just anyone in Hoenn.

"Good morning, Master Joseph," said a butler in a crisp suit. "Your brother Steven left early for Granite Cave. Shall I prepare breakfast?"

Joseph blinked.

Steven. Steven Stone.

And in a mirror on the far wall, he caught his reflection. Taller. Early twenties. Blue-gray hair like his "brother." Chiseled features. Sleepy, sharp eyes.

"...No way," he muttered. "I'm Steven Stone's older brother?"

The Stone Legacy

Joseph Stone.

In this world, he was the elder son of the Stone family—the wealthiest corporate dynasty in Hoenn. Devon Corp wasn't just a tech company; it was the beating heart of regional infrastructure. Poké Balls. Healing tech. Transport systems. The Stone name was legendary.

And Joseph? The prodigal older sibling who wanted none of it.

He wasn't a businessman.

He was a trainer.

Or rather, he would be. Again.

Because while this world was new, something had followed him from the old one.

At first, it appeared as a faint shimmer in his vision, like a ghost of an interface. But when he focused, it clicked open.

EMERALD PC BOX OPENED.

Rows of Level 100 Pokémon filled his vision. Names. Levels. Held items.

Shiny Gardevoir ♂ (Modest, Leftovers)

Tyranitar ♂ (Adamant, Choice Band)

Blaziken ♂ (Jolly, Life Orb)

Kyogre (Quiet, Mystic Water)

Rayquaza ★ (Jolly, Lum Berry)

Eevee ★ (Calm, Leftovers) – [Party]

His heart nearly stopped.

"Oh my god… I kept my boxes…"

A Silver Companion

The Eevee appeared from a flash of white light, its coat a soft silver instead of brown, with gleaming sapphire eyes. It blinked up at him, ears twitching.

He crouched down and ran a hand over its fur. Still warm. Still real.

"You made it too, huh?" he whispered. "Hey there, little guy."

The Eevee yipped and leapt onto his shoulder, perfectly balanced, just as it always had on-screen.

Joseph couldn't explain how the PC boxes followed him, only that they had. And that it worked. He could only access his Emerald box here in Hoenn—but his FireRed PC… he'd have to be in Kanto for that.

It was like some unspoken law of transmigration. His PC was bound to the region.

"Fine," Joseph muttered with a smirk. "Guess I'll have to travel slowly, region by region."

Which suited him just fine.

Departure

He rejected Devon's luxury car. Walked instead. Just him, Eevee, and the open route ahead.

He wasn't aiming to be Champion.

He wasn't here to collect gym badges, though he wouldn't mind.

No, Joseph wanted one thing: to explore. To walk this world like a trainer, not a king. To see what the games never showed.

Sometimes he'd battle. Sometimes he'd just help. And if disaster struck—like those crazy Groudon/Kyogre sky battles—he'd step in. On his own terms.

The world didn't know him yet. But one day, it would.

They'd know the name of the guy with the Shiny Umbreon, the Rayquaza with emerald scales that could eat planes, and a personal island where the legends lived like household pets.
