Chapter 96 - Chapter 97 Learning

Fastest update of "Clark in the Marvel Universe"!

"Kaecilius?!"Hearing the name, Clark immediately recalled the villain from Doctor Strange.

"Yes. Kaecilius is currently our most talented student," Mordo said, introducing the man to Clark.

"You know me?" Kaecilius noticed the change in Clark's expression when his name was mentioned. But he was sure they'd never met before.

"I don't really know you. I played a game once that had a disciple named Kaecilius in it, so hearing your name just surprised me a bit."Of course, Clark couldn't tell him the truth—that in the future, Kaecilius would kill the Ancient One.

But seeing Kaecilius now sparked a deeper question in Clark's mind:The last time he spoke with the Ancient One, she explicitly said she had foreseen her death. So if she knew Kaecilius would be the one to kill her… why still train him?Was she deliberately creating a "sharpening stone" for the next Sorcerer Supreme?

Clark couldn't understand. But he also wasn't planning on interfering with the Ancient One's decisions. After all, his main reason for being here was to learn how to control the energy of the Tesseract inside his body.

"Sounds like a fun game. So… are you two sharing a room?"Kaecilius, still far from his dark turn, was actually rather pleasant. Clark found him easy to talk to.

"Two rooms," Clark replied after glancing at Diana.Sadly, no romantic luck this time—so he quickly requested two separate rooms.

That same night, back at S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was stunned.

Loki, with help from Hawkeye, had swept through three secret S.H.I.E.L.D. facilities, taking a large number of top researchers and combat agents.

"Coulson, can you find where they went? I don't believe a group that size could just vanish from the Earth."

Even the normally calm Fury was losing patience.Three entire bases had been emptied of personnel and equipment.

"I'm sorry, sir. It looks like they just disappeared," Coulson said as he pulled up surveillance footage.

Most of the base systems had been hacked or destroyed, but a few scattered feeds remained.

And what they showed was chilling—Loki-controlled S.H.I.E.L.D. agents disappearing into thin air, leaving behind no traces.

"Are they using teleportation magic?" Fury rubbed his head, recalling the previous night when Loki vanished with Hawkeye and Erik Selvig.

"Yeah… he knows magic now."

Fury began analyzing the files of the kidnapped personnel. After all, Loki hadn't taken everyone—just a few hundred out of over a thousand across the three facilities.

Clearly, he wasn't choosing randomly.

The only conclusion: Loki took the ones he needed—his base likely couldn't house too many people. The rest were left behind.

"Let's see exactly who he took…"

As Fury scanned through the personnel records, a clear pattern emerged:Energy scientists. Physicists. Astronomers.

Suddenly—BEEP BEEP!

An urgent alert came through from a top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D. site known as Deep Blue.

Deep Blue was one of the most secure bases Fury had built. It had a single entrance, required manual override to unlock, and had a self-destruct system as a failsafe. All these measures were in place to protect something critical.

And that something was—

"Damn it. It's the Tesseract!"

Fury had expected this.

After Clark returned the Tesseract, Fury had scattered it across dozens of secure units—each carried by an unknowing team, so no one could tell which team had the real thing.

The idea was that if the enemy struck, they'd have to hit dozens of locations at once to succeed.

But now—only one base had been attacked: Deep Blue. The very one holding the real Tesseract.

Fury rushed to the site, only to find it in ruins.

"The enemy is more powerful than we thought," he said grimly, staring at the smoldering wreckage.

"What should we do, sir?" Coulson asked, visibly concerned. He had been present when Loki first declared his plan to conquer Earth. Now that Loki had the one thing he wanted most—the Tesseract—things were about to escalate fast.

"We summon them," Fury said. "The Avengers."

"Coulson, get Natasha. Have her calm down the big guy. Then go after the muscle-bound one. I'll handle the Captain. He's been asleep long enough—it's time to wake up."

"As for Clark… I trust he's doing okay."

The next morning.

Clark began his magic training under the Ancient One.

"Magic is as old as human civilization itself," she explained. "Ancient sorcerers unified this mystical language and called it spells. We use spells to tap into energies from the multiverse and other dimensions—to create shields, weapons, or even forge our own magical constructs."

"But you, Clark… you may not even need to borrow outside energy. The power in you is already immense—possibly too immense."

"Still, when it comes to learning magic, there's one thing you must understand:Magic is not a material thing. It's intangible. You must believe in it.Only then can you begin to access it."

"I've seen many gifted people fail—simply because they didn't believe. So remember: faith comes first."

"Believe?" Clark frowned. He wasn't quite getting it.After all, in the movies, magic always looked like a flashy hand wave and boom—magic.

"Since you're not technically a student of Kamar-Taj, I can't teach you specific spells. But here are some books. Start with these. They'll show you what magic really is."

The Ancient One handed him several ancient-looking tomes.

After training that morning, Clark found Diana eating breakfast in the dining hall.

"How was your night?" he asked.

"How about you?" she replied, sipping milk and nibbling her bread.

"I'm… alright," Clark said, a bit tired.

BZZZT! BZZZT!Clark's phone suddenly buzzed on the table.

He picked it up and answered.

"Clark, the cube's gone—Loki has the Tesseract!"
