Chapter 131 - Chapter 141 Beaten

After completing his transformation, Hulk looked confused as to why he was seeing Clark again so soon. So this time, instead of immediately starting to destroy things like before, he stood there blankly staring at Clark and the others.

"Is he always this dumb?" Ares waved at Hulk first, then turned to Clark and complained as he looked at the dazed giant. "Seriously, how can he be like this? Do you actually find this big goof kind of cute?"

But as soon as Hulk saw someone in armor provoking him, the urge for destruction surged within him again, overcoming his fear of Clark—especially since Clark hadn't shown any intention of hitting him.

"ROAR!" With a thunderous roar, Hulk charged at Ares. Before Ares could react, Hulk had already grabbed him and lifted him off the ground.

Then Hulk turned around and slammed Ares into the ground like a sandbag.

"Weakling!" Hulk taunted as he pinned Ares to the ground, likely in response to Ares' earlier mocking.

Shaking his head in confusion, Ares climbed out of the human-shaped crater he'd left in the ground. Before he could fully regain his senses, Hulk struck again, slapping him across the field.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom-boom! Ares smashed through several trees before finally coming to a stop.

"Ha!" Hulk let out a delighted shout as he watched Ares go flying, then charged after him again.

But this time, Ares was prepared. Having tasted Hulk's power firsthand, he didn't try to dodge. Instead, he met Hulk head-on with a punch of his own. Ares believed the reason he had been beaten so badly earlier was because he had underestimated Hulk. Now he was ready to give it his all. He wanted to see how long this green brute could withstand a true god of war at full power.

Ares had good intentions, but once again, just like last time, he ended up flying through the air empty-handed.

BOOM! A figure shot out from the clash and shattered several trees along the way—it was Ares again. Clark, standing nearby, winced in sympathy as he watched Ares being sent flying.

"Puh!" Ares spat out some dirt and slowly got to his feet. Looking toward the howling Hulk, a serious expression crept over his face. He hadn't expected the green giant's strength to surpass even his own as the God of War.

But after glancing at Clark, Ares comforted himself: "This isn't the first time I've been compared to someone stronger than me. Whatever. You think all I have is strength?"

Suddenly, a pair of gauntlets appeared in Ares' hands—power-enhancing gauntlets that could raise his strength to the level of Heracles himself.

Only with these gauntlets on did Ares truly live up to the title of God of War. After all, most Marvel gods weren't at their peak unless armed. Thor, for example, spent the early days as "Hammer God" and later became "Axe God"—no one really acted like a proper God of Thunder.

Ares was the same. His true combat power only came out when he was equipped. So after being overpowered by Hulk, he immediately summoned his gauntlets. Now he was confident—his strength would no longer fall short.

As for Clark? Ares had already conveniently forgotten the time Clark wiped the floor with him even while he had the gauntlets on.

But Hulk didn't care what Ares was thinking. All he cared about was fighting. And this unkillable toy of his was starting to annoy him.

"Hulk is angry!" Hulk shouted—and unlike most people, when he said it, he meant it.

Clenching his fists, he charged at Ares again.

"..." Ares was speechless. The guy who'd been pummeling him this whole time suddenly declared he was the angry one? Ares felt deeply wronged—he hadn't even said he was mad yet!

"You'll be even angrier in a minute," Ares growled through gritted teeth as he tightened his gauntlet-clad fists and braced himself.

BOOM!

This time, their punches clashed evenly. A powerful shockwave burst from the point of impact, sweeping outward.

The resulting shockwave was so intense it tore through the forest like a level-12 hurricane. Thinner trees were snapped clean in half.

As the wave reached Clark, he casually raised his hand, and a burst of compressed air clashed against the aftershock from Hulk and Ares' battle.

**Snap! ** With a sharp crack, the shockwave from Hulk's punch was dispersed by Clark's air strike.

"AHH—!" Realizing someone had blocked his punch, Hulk roared and turned, slamming his other fist into Ares, who had still been locked with him.

BOOM! BOOM!

Ares flew again, crashing through several trees and skidding to a stop.

"Ugh!" Gasping from the blow, Ares sucked in a cold breath. Even with a body far stronger than any mortal's, taking repeated hits from Hulk was starting to overwhelm him.

But Hulk didn't care. Seeing Ares get up again, he let out another roar and charged forward.

As the green monster barreled toward him again, Ares' expression turned a little green himself. He began to regret accepting the mission to subdue Hulk—how shameless could he have been?

But the fight gave him no time to reflect. Hulk was coming fast, and Ares could only throw up his defenses again.

BOOM!

This time, Hulk's punch was stopped—but not by Ares.

Clark had stepped in.

Clark had realized that even now, Ares probably couldn't win. So before Hulk could truly smash him into oblivion, Clark intervened.

Looking up at Clark, who had just stopped Hulk's attack for him, Ares' face stayed stoic—but inside, he breathed a massive sigh of relief. This green brute was just too strong, and his attacks were ridiculously fast. Where the hell did this monster come from?

Then Ares looked at Clark again and thought: Seriously, it's only been a few hundred years. How did Earth end up with so many freaks?

"Hulk, that's enough," Clark said, holding onto Hulk's fist.

But Hulk, in the middle of a fight, had completely forgotten his fear of Clark. Seeing someone stop his punch, he raised his other fist and swung again.

BOOM! BOOM!

But this time, Clark calmly pressed a palm to Hulk's chest—and with a force of hundreds of thousands of tons, he sent Hulk flying into the ground.

When Hulk hit the earth, the impact was so strong even Diana, watching from afar, felt the ground shake like an earthquake. Hulk lay buried in the ground, not getting up for quite a while.

Even the mighty Hulk found it hard to breathe after taking that blow—but the strike from Clark had done more than knock him down.

It had snapped Hulk back to his senses.
