The Saiyan race's combat talent was truly extraordinary. After obtaining Vegeta's powerful second soul, Yang Ye's cultivation speed skyrocketed. Compared to Kuek, who relied on Bulma and her father's high-gravity chamber for brutal training — and even used the Demonic Disintegration Technique to wound himself and dance on the edge of life and death — Yang Ye's progress was unmatched.
The result of such extreme growth was terrifying stats. His strength, agility, offense, and defense all reached superhuman levels. In the Creation Space, he could once only shatter a boulder with one punch — but now, in the Dragon Ball world, splitting a mountain was easily possible.
Dodoria's face twisted in pain as Yang Ye's "Jade Illusion Kick" combo shattered his bones and tendons. Fortunately, Dodoria's alien physiology was tough enough that he didn't die instantly. As he hovered on the edge of death, he suddenly saw Zarbon turn to ash — and then Vegeta, his face full of murderous intent, standing before him.
"Lord Vegeta! Please, don't kill me! It was all Zarbon's fault — he was acting under Frieza's orders to kill you. I've always admired you, truly!"
Vegeta — or rather, Yang Ye in Vegeta's body — stood with his hands behind his back, eyes cold as a blade."Give me one reason not to kill you."
Dodoria, trembling in agony, gasped, "I can tell you a secret… a secret about why your Saiyan home planet, Vegeta, was destroyed."
Yang Ye's expression remained calm, his tone almost detached, as though speaking from a mountain sanctuary."You mean to tell me Planet Vegeta wasn't destroyed by a meteor — that it was Frieza's jealousy of the Saiyans' talent that drove him to annihilate them early?"
Dodoria's eyes went wide with shock."H-how do you know that? Back then, when Lord Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, only Zarbon and I were there! No one else knew!"
A confident smile spread across Yang Ye's face as his sharp gaze pierced Dodoria."You don't need to know how I found out. Just know this — your secret can't buy back your life."
The moment he spoke, an invisible wave of spiritual pressure crashed over Dodoria like a tidal wave. His limbs went limp, his mind blank, and his soul shuddered under the crushing weight. All he could see before his eyes was the blazing red character for death.
"No! I don't want to die! Lord Vegeta, please — if you spare me, I'll be your dog!"
"Oh? You'd be my dog?" Yang Ye's eyes glinted with cruelty. Dodoria, terrified, blurted,"Aren't you afraid of Frieza? His power far surpasses mine. Fine — forget it. I don't want your loyalty. Just answer me honestly, and I'll spare your miserable life."
Dodoria's face lit up in relief. "Yes, yes, Lord Vegeta! Ask anything — if I know it, I'll tell you everything!"
After several minutes of interrogation, Yang Ye finally tossed him a healing potion from within his Yin-Yang Fish sigil. It restored some of Dodoria's strength — just enough for him to fly again.
As Dodoria slowly floated into the air, a clear, melodic female voice rang out behind Yang Ye:
"Yang Ye, it seems our journey to Planet Namek is going to be even more dangerous than we thought."
Yang Ye turned. Golden light shimmered amid soft mist — the combined effect of a Spirit Diamond and an invisibility charm. Out of the haze walked Ling Zhao, her brows slightly furrowed.
"Oh, Miss Ling, what brings you here?"
After their previous life-and-death ordeal, the bond between them had deepened. When Ling Zhao looked at him now, her gaze was no longer icy — it carried warmth and softness that could melt steel.
"You went off alone to face Frieza's men. I was worried, so I came to help. I didn't expect these enemies to be so weak — you took them down in three moves. I didn't even get a chance to fight."
Yang Ye nodded. "They may be weak, but their power levels are far higher than in the original Dragon Ball timeline. By the way, Miss Ling, did you hear what Dodoria just said?"
Ling Zhao brushed her robe and sighed, her face tinged with sorrow."Yes, I heard everything. Frieza in his Golden Form... Is this still supposed to be a 'Legendary Battlefield'-level world? It feels more like a Creator-tier domain. Even if we ran into a Supreme Battle God, survival would be uncertain. Yang Ye, maybe we should abandon this mission."
Yang Ye knew her too well. She was kind, brave, and steadfast — the kind of woman who would risk her life to protect the innocent. For her to suggest retreat could mean only one thing: she didn't want him to face an undefeatable foe for the sake of a doomed world.
His hyper-evolved mind instantly saw through her heart. This extraordinary woman had already come to care for him — more than for ideals, beliefs, or even her own life.
Warmth spread through Yang Ye's chest as he looked at her — her jade-white skin glowing softly like a celestial maiden's. His pulse quickened. On instinct, he reached out and pulled her close. To his surprise, she didn't push him away.
"Miss Ling," he said, voice low but firm, "I can't give up. The god Ilruata said that saving our homeworlds is tied to our own life force — it's the source of a Savior's power, the foundation of ascension. To abandon the mission is to shorten our own lifespan. Even the Supreme Ring and Spirit Diamond can't make up for that loss."
Ling Zhao's lips trembled. "I don't care if I become a god or live forever…"
"But I care!" Yang Ye's grip tightened. "I want to protect you — to become divine so you can live a life of endless happiness. No one, not even Frieza himself, will take that hope away from me."
Her eyes wavered like candlelight. "But…"
"No matter what, my mind is made up," he interrupted. "If gods block my way, I'll slay gods. If demons block me, I'll destroy demons. This time, I will complete the mission to save the Dragon Ball world!"
Seeing his resolve, Ling Zhao sighed — but the warmth in her cheeks betrayed her feelings. She wanted to tell him to let go, but the words that came out instead were,"Fine. I'll follow you to the end. But are you still going to call me 'Miss Ling'? After what happened that night…?"
As the saying goes — when a man pursues a woman, it's a mountain apart; when a woman pursues a man, it's only a veil between them. Especially when the woman is of such breathtaking beauty. No man, not even Yang Ye, could resist such sweetness.
"Dan Yao…" he whispered, summoning his courage as he reached for her slender waist, drawing her into his arms. He wanted to lean in for a passionate kiss — but just then, Vegeta's second soul began to fluctuate violently. Reluctantly, he stopped.
Leaving the matter of love aside for now, Dodoria's story continued. Though spared, his heart burned with hatred. Once he found allies, he vowed to return for revenge, armed with Frieza's fearsome technology.
Grievously wounded and drained, Dodoria took several hours to limp to the rendezvous point. The moment he landed, he was met by members of the Ginyu Force — Burter and Jeice.
"Mr. Dodoria, what happened to you?"
Tears streamed down Dodoria's face. "Damn that Vegeta! He killed Lord Zarbon. Take me to Captain Ginyu — we'll all go together and avenge him!"
Burter and Jeice blanched. "How could Vegeta become that strong? Lord Zarbon's power level was personally enhanced by Frieza!"
Dodoria snarled, "Vegeta's power is freakish! He beat both me and Zarbon single-handedly!"
The two warriors exchanged eager grins instead of fear. Members of the Ginyu Force were born battle maniacs. The idea of a stronger opponent only excited them.
"Mr. Dodoria, where is Vegeta now?" they said in unison. "We'll head out immediately — let that treacherous Saiyan taste the power of the Purple Comet!"
Just as they were about to depart, a sharp, metallic voice rang from above — carrying authority and killing intent.
"No one moves! Zarbon's death is his own fate. Avenging him is not part of our mission. Don't meddle in things beyond your orders!"
The voice belonged to none other than Captain Ginyu himself. Behind him stood the massive, pineapple-haired Recoome and the short, green-skinned, four-eyed Guldo. Each of them held a Dragon Ball the size of a basketball — the two-star, three-star, five-star, and seven-star balls.
Ginyu shot a glare at Burter and Jeice, then turned his blade-like eyes on Dodoria."You fools have no sense of priority. Our top mission right now is gathering the Namekian Dragon Balls. When Lord Frieza arrives, we'll help him achieve immortality. As for Vegeta — he's just an insect. Let him live a few days longer."
Dodoria protested weakly, "Captain Ginyu, Vegeta's power is strange! The scouter reads only twenty thousand, but in battle, he's stronger than the three-hundred-thousand-level Zarbon! Don't underestimate him!"
Ginyu smirked coldly. "Nonsense. Don't spread fear. Do you think Burter and Jeice are stupid enough to believe that? I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself — stay here and guard these four Dragon Balls."
He turned away, voice echoing like thunder."The collection must speed up! The Namekians have spaceflight technology. If they escape with the Dragon Balls, we'll be in real trouble."
