Chapter 190 - Chapter 205 Fight again

Chu Rouwen felt a little regretful about what she had just said. If she didn't agree to meet him, how was she supposed to take revenge?

Chen Nan, meanwhile, was still brooding, wondering how he could get another chance to meet up with Chu Wenrou. Just then, his phone rang again — it was her voice on the line.

"My surname is Chen. Do you know what you did wrong?"

"What?" Chen Nan froze, completely confused.

This crazy woman had just said firmly that she wouldn't see him again — and now she was suddenly changing her tune?

"What, you don't know? You broke our promise from last night!" Chu Wenwen said angrily. "Just wait and see how I deal with you later!"

"I know… I know I was wrong, of course I know I was wrong," Chen Nan said quickly.

Chu Wenrou snorted coldly.

"Since you know your mistake, fine — I'll give you another chance."

Hearing that, Chen Nan's heart leapt with excitement.

"Great! Time and place — where are we meeting?"

"Let me think about it," Chu Wenrou replied, beginning to plan how she would deal with him. After a short pause, she said, "Under Tianling District's jurisdiction, in front of the South Sea Bar on Qingshi Street."

Chen Nan frowned. "Are you sure you want to go to Qingshi Street?"

He asked because that place was notoriously chaotic — full of thugs and crime. It was the most dangerous street in Ningjiang City, known for its countless bars and red-light clubs.

The people who frequented the area were mostly gang leaders and mobsters. Fights and murders were common — if a week went by without blood being spilled, that was what people found unusual.

Because of that, Qingshi Street had become infamous throughout the city — a paradise for criminals, a place ordinary people avoided completely.

Chu Wenrou sneered and taunted,

"What, are you afraid to go?"

"It's not that," Chen Nan said. "I'm worried that if you get there first and I'm not there yet, someone might bother you. For your safety, maybe I should just pick you up instead."

"Hmph, I'm not that weak — no need for you to worry. Just answer me — do you dare to go or not?"

To Chen Nan, the place didn't matter. As long as he could meet her, that was enough.

"What's there to be afraid of? Just tell me the time."

"It's already past ten," she said. "Let's meet at eleven thirty tonight. Don't be late this time — or I won't let you off easy."

"Don't worry, I'll be there early. See you then."

Chen Nan's heart was racing. The tone in her voice sounded almost cheerful, not hostile. Maybe getting close to her wouldn't be so hard after all.

But he had no idea — as soon as she hung up, Chu Wenrou immediately dialed another number.

"It's me," she said curtly. "I need your help."

A respectful male voice answered,

"Miss Chu, what can I do for you?"

"If it wasn't something important, do you think I'd bother calling you?" she snapped.

She then explained everything that had happened between her and Chen Nan, and gave detailed instructions.

When she finished, the man — who called himself Xiao Si — replied eagerly,

"Miss Chu, don't worry. Leave it to me. I promise I'll take care of it."

"If you get it done," she said coldly, "I'll pay you a million. If you fail, don't ever expect me to come to you again."

"Y-yes, Miss Chu! I'll make sure it's done!"

"Prove it with your actions," she said sharply, then hung up.

A smug smile appeared on her face as she turned to leave, muttering under her breath,

"Chen Nan, you bastard. You dare flirt with me? Just wait — I'll make you pay for it!"

After leaving home, Chen Nan drove straight toward Qingshi Street.

He was driving the Ferrari 458 he had won from Chu Wenrou — not to provoke her, but to return it and ease the tension between them.

When he arrived at Qingshi Street, it was only eleven o'clock — half an hour before their meeting time.

He parked outside the South Sea Bar, reclined the seat, and listened to music while waiting for her to arrive.

He waited… and waited.

At eleven thirty, he got out of the car and looked around — but there was no sign of Chu Wenrou.

At eleven forty, he called her.

As soon as the call connected, Chu Wenrou snapped,

"Why are you calling me? I'm going to be late. Just wait!"

"You're already late. Can't you at least sound a little nicer?" he asked helplessly.

"What if my tone's bad? I'm allowed to be late — you're not," she said coldly. "Either wait or cancel the date. Your choice."

This damn woman…

Chen Nan felt frustrated — he had never been treated like this before.

If this weren't about something important, he would've turned around and left without hesitation.

But he swallowed his anger.

"Wenrou, that's not what I meant. You can take your time — I'll wait for you."

"Good," she said arrogantly, and hung up immediately.

Chen Nan wanted to curse out loud. She was clearly trying to get back at him for missing their previous meeting. It was already so late, and she was still acting like this.

Still, if he wanted to win her over, he'd have to endure it.

"You crazy woman," he muttered under his breath. "Once I catch you, I swear I'll pin you down and make you pay for this."

He waited. One minute after another, one hour after another.

Finally, at 2 a.m., his phone rang again.

"I'm at the bar. Where are you?" Chu Wenrou asked.

"In the car — I'll come right now," Chen Nan said.

He was certain she was doing this on purpose. The car still had her license plate — there was no way she didn't recognize it sitting right in front of the bar.

Chen Nan jumped out of the car and strode into the bar.

But as soon as he stepped inside, he frowned. Something felt off.

The massive South Sea Bar was completely empty.

Only Chu Rouwen sat there — alone.
