Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: Carl’s Divine Weapon Manifestation, His Entrance

Brünnhilde had already chosen the Valkyrie who would undergo —Divine Weapon Manifestation—for Carl.

Originally, Carl believed that with his own strength, he was more than capable of handling the gods.

He didn't need a Valkyrie.

But curiosity gnawed at him—what kind of weapon would be born if he underwent Divine Weapon Manifestation?

After all, the weapon created through this ritual always became the one most compatible with the user.

Carl, however, had never once relied on weapons in his life.

The martial arts he practiced before were all forms of hand-to-hand combat—Jeet Kune Do, boxing, sanda, mixed martial arts, wrestling.

Weapons had never been part of his style.

And ever since he had obtained the Silver Superman Template, the thought of wielding any weapon had become completely unnecessary.

Even he himself had no idea what weapon would suit him.

So in the end, Carl agreed to Brünnhilde's proposal.

He would undergo Divine Weapon Manifestation.

"Excellent," Brünnhilde nodded, then added a warning:

"Carl, please remember to treat Hreiðr with respect. After all, Divine Weapon Manifestation—this Volundr skill—binds a Valkyrie and her chosen human into one. If the human dies in battle, the Valkyrie will perish alongside him."

Carl gave a casual nod. "Oh, sure."

"Since your strength is overwhelming, Carl, it would be best to just end Poseidon instantly," Brünnhilde continued. "That way, we don't even need to discuss strategy."

"Mm."

Carl responded with a hum, then asked, "This Divine Weapon Manifestation—can we do it now?"

"Oh?" Brünnhilde blinked, a little surprised. "You want to use it here, before the match?"

"That's right." Carl nodded.

The only reason he had agreed was because he was curious about what kind of weapon he would produce. Naturally, he didn't want to wait until stepping onto the battlefield.

"That's no problem at all. Please, go ahead." Brünnhilde smiled.

Carl turned to the purple-haired Valkyrie.

"I'm very curious to see what weapon will appear. Shall we begin, my beautiful lady?"

"Of course."

Hreiðr gave a soft nod and spoke gently:

"Carl, please extend your hand. Our hearts must be in sync—only then can I use Volundr."

"Alright."

Carl extended his left hand.

Hreiðr gently placed her hand on his. Then, in a quiet voice, she spoke a single word:

"Volundr."

The moment the word left her lips, a dazzling green light burst forth.

Within the glow, Hreiðr's body began to transform.

Xiaoming, watching eagerly, leaned forward.

"I wonder what kind of weapon Carl will get?"

Brünnhilde and Geirr were also staring intently, anticipation plain on their faces.

Gradually, the light faded.

And in Carl's hand appeared

…a Superman suit.

A black cape. A black skin-tight suit.

And across the chest, the iconic "S" emblem.

The battle-suit was identical to the one Carl already wore.

"A Superman battle-suit, huh…"

Carl glanced at the outfit in his hand and chuckled softly.

"Well, I suppose nothing could suit me better."

He had never needed weapons.

Not before he gained power, and certainly not after.

Weapons were meaningless to him. This battle-suit was just fine.

"Eh…"

Geirr stared in disbelief at the garment.

"A… a shirt?!"

Brünnhilde said nothing, but the twitch at the corner of her eye betrayed her thoughts.

Even Xiaoming, though surprised, managed to rationalize it.

"Well, I guess it does suit Carl perfectly."

"…"

Brünnhilde and Geirr gave Xiaoming speechless looks.

Suit him?

What kind of Divine Weapon ended up as clothing?!

Weren't these supposed to become swords, spears, or halberds?

Even Adam's knuckle-dusters counted as close-combat weapons.

But Carl's? Clothes. Just clothes.

Brünnhilde let out a helpless sigh.

"Well… if this is the result, then it must mean this battle-suit is indeed the weapon most suited to Carl."

"Carl, why don't you try it on?"

"Mm."

Carl nodded, then asked, "Is there a changing room?"

He was already wearing a Superman battle-suit—one he had received through his [Sign-In System].

Wearing two of the same outfit at once would be absurd.

"There's no changing room here, but the fighters' resting chambers do have them," Brünnhilde answered. "I'll take you there."

"Alright."

Carl followed her to a private chamber.

The space was surprisingly large, easily dozens of square meters.

Carl removed the suit he had been wearing and put on the one born from Divine Weapon Manifestation.

It looked identical.

Both were black Superman suits.

And yet… Carl felt this one fit him better. It was more comfortable.

In fact, it seemed capable of transforming into casual clothing when he willed it.

He stretched a bit, tested the feel.

Yes. No discomfort. It felt right.

Satisfied, he returned to the others.

Not long after, word came that the match was about to begin.

Carl and his companions moved toward the Valhalla Arena.

Brünnhilde, Xiaoming, and the others took their places in the stands.

Carl walked alone down the fighter's passage, entering the arena floor.

Valhalla Arena

The ground, once a simple stone battlefield, transformed dramatically.

The entire arena rose in height, along with the stands and the gates of entry.

At the center lay the same stone platform—but all around it, seawater surged, encircling it like a vast ocean.

Above, seabirds wheeled and cried, their calls echoing through the stadium.

At first glance, one might have thought they had truly arrived at the coast.

On the gods' side, the spectators reacted with shock.

"So this is the stage for the third round?"

"How bold… an ocean battlefield."

"The sea…?"

"Wait—could it be…?"

"No! It can't be him, can it?"

The referee, Heimdall, appeared at the center of the platform.

"Hmm…" His voice rang out.

"After the unbelievable feat of humanity's two consecutive victories, we now arrive at the third battle in this ultimate struggle—Ragnarök!"

He raised his voice, echoing across the arena:

"And now, following Lord Zeus, the mightiest of gods, the next champion of the divine hosts is—"

"—this man!"

With a resonant creak, the massive gate of entry swung open.

Seawater poured through the opening—yet curiously, it split aside, clearing a path, as if it dared not bar the one approaching.

"The sovereign who commands all oceans!"

"The tyrant of the seas!"

"The god even gods themselves fear—the most terrifying of them all!"

"His name is—Poseidon!"
