Chapter 10 - CHURCH AND FOOD (redo)

Shiro came back to the city, his body exhausted from the fight against Gilgamesh. He searched for a place to rest, his head confused from the exhaustion. He woke up the next morning to the sun shining through the window.

He walked through the streets and visited some shops and savored their products. Shiro was polite, but his face was not that eager. The food was tasty, but it was not precisely what he was looking for.

As he spun around, he ran into Artoria and Irisviel. Artoria's eyes narrowed a little as she looked at Shiro. "What do you want?" she demanded, her voice cold.

Shiro grinned and bowed. "I was in the mood for lunch. Would you like to eat with me?"

Artoria's face remained one of astonishment. "I don't believe that's a good plan," she told him, her tone stern.

But Irisviel interrupted her, her eyes shining with enthusiasm. "Really, that's a wonderful idea. I'd love to have lunch with you, Shiro."

Artoria's eyes blazed with anger but she no longer protested. Shiro merely smiled and nodded, and the three of them proceeded to an eatery nearby.

When the two of them sat at a table, Artoria still had a stiff posture, her eyes on Shiro suspiciously. Irisviel, on the other hand, was as happy as a clam, chatting with Shiro about anything and everything.

Shiro asked, "So, why do you think I'm so powerful without being a Master?"

Artoria's eyes narrowed, her expression an inscrutable mask. Irisviel leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Good question. We don't get many visitors like you around here."

When Shiro was about to respond, a church messenger arrived at their table. "Excuse me, I have a message for you," the messenger said, handing a note to Artoria.

Artoria read the message, her expression grim. "It seems we have a crisis on our hands," she said, her tone stern.

Irisviel's gaze narrowed. "What is wrong, Artoria?"

Artoria hesitated, then handed the note to Irisviel. "It is from the church. They need our assistance with a case of utmost importance."
