Chapter 7 - The old man

After a night passed, the sky began to lighten with the first rays of dawn. Everything seemed to awaken in the early morning light.

In the forest, the chirping of birds can be heard continuously, as if it were the most beautiful melody of nature.

Everyone hurriedly packed their bags, preparing to embark on a new journey.

However, Zhanbei did not join the main group. Instead, he went alone to a secluded and magnificent waterfall.

The waterfall plunges down from the towering cliff like a reversed river, with a deafening roar and an overwhelming force.

The sunlight, filtered through the water mist, cast a kaleidoscopic array of light and shadow, adding a touch of mystery and grandeur to this secluded place.

Zhanbei stood beneath the waterfall, his clothes soaked through but he showed no concern. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as if intent on absorbing all the vitality of the universe into his body.

"Whew..." Zhanbei suddenly opened his eyes wide, his body jolted, and his clothes were instantly shaken by the powerful air current, making them flap loudly.

He was bathing naked under the waterfall, allowing the icy-cold water to wash over every inch of his skin, as if to cleanse away all the fatigue and dust from his body.

After the bath, Zhanbei did not rush to put on his clothes. Instead, he sat cross-legged on the ground, closed his eyes and concentrated, beginning to regulate his breathing.

A moment later, he slowly stood up, his eyes shining with determination and perseverance. He began to punch beside the waterfall, each punch powerful and impressive, with an astonishing momentum.

"Hawk Roar Fist!" Zhan Bei roared loudly, then threw his fists forward, generating a series of gusts of wind, as if a fierce tiger was charging down the mountain.

The first move, "Tiger Leaps Out of the Forest", features powerful punches that sweep around in a fierce, storm-like manner.

The second move, "Tiger Leap and Dragon Ascension", features a vigorous and agile posture, as if a dragon were emerging from the sea, unstoppable.

The third move, "The Tiger Roaring in the Forest", features a powerful gust of wind that shakes the surrounding trees violently.

It was not until Wanbei unleashed his fourth move, "Wind Tiger Roaring", that we saw him strike with a single punch. The force of the punch was accompanied by a strong wind, as if a fierce tiger were roaring. The power was quite impressive.

Wherever the fist's force passed, the grass and trees were blown away, and even the hard rocks were cracked all over.

"Ha ha ha! Good!" Zhanbei raised his fists and stood still, raising his head to let out a mighty roar. His voice was filled with boldness and confidence. He knew that his strength had increased once again, and he had taken another step closer to entering the Shuofang Martial Arts Academy.

"Young man, it's true that great heroes emerge at a young age. Your strength is impressive. I am deeply impressed, extremely impressed indeed." A voice came, conveying a sense of admiration for the younger generation.

When Zhanbei heard this, he raised his eyes slightly and saw an elderly man with white hair and beard standing not far ahead. The man looked energetic and vigorous.

Beside him was a graceful and beautiful young girl with bright eyes and white teeth. Both of them were dressed in the attire of martial artists, exuding an extraordinary aura.

The elder wore a smile on his face, his eyes gleaming with an endless fascination for martial arts. "I began practicing martial arts when I was young and have been doing it for over forty years. I have gained some understanding of the Tiger Roar Fist technique. However, as far as I know, the traditional moves of the Tiger Roar Fist only consist of three forms. Although the power is strong, it is rather limited..."

"... But observing Brother Xiao's practice, the Tiger Roar Fist has added another move, and this move is extremely powerful. It is truly something I have never seen before in my life. I am completely obsessed with martial arts. I wonder what the name of this fourth move is? If Brother Xiao doesn't mind giving me some guidance, I would be willing to exchange my precious possession for it, just so that I can see the true appearance of this Tiger Roar Fist's fourth move.

When Zhanbei heard this, he was secretly amazed. He never expected that this old man had such a profound understanding of the Tiger Roar Fist. What's more, he never expected that his fourth form of the Tiger Roar Fist would arouse such great interest from the old man.

He smiled slightly and said, "The elders are being overly complimentary. This fourth form of the Tiger Roar Fist was something I stumbled upon by chance and is called 'Wind Tiger Roar'. As for how I obtained it, it's probably too complicated to explain. However, since the elders are so passionate about martial arts and are willing to exchange things, I can certainly share with the elders the method of practicing this fourth form."

When the elder heard this, a glimmer of surprise flashed in his eyes. He hurriedly thanked, "Thank you, young brother, for your generous guidance."

After speaking, the old man gave a gentle smile. From a space ring on his finger that emitted a faint glow, he slowly drew out a simple yet slender sword.

The blade of this sword glows with a cold light, as clear and bright as autumn water. The tip of the blade is extremely sharp, as if it could easily cut through the void.

The handle of the sword is engraved with intricate totems, exuding a sense of the passage of time and the weightiness of history. Clearly, it is a rare and precious treasure.

Zhanbei's gaze was immediately drawn to this sword. His eyes revealed an undeniable fondness and astonishment.

He had never seen such a beautiful and sharp sword. It seemed as if this sword was tailor-made for him, resonating with some emotion deep within his heart.

"Senior, this sword..." Zhanbei's voice trembled slightly. It was obvious that he had great expectations for this sword.

The elder smiled and nodded. "This sword is called 'Autumn Water Cold'. I obtained it by chance during an expedition when I was young. Although it is not an artifact, it can still be regarded as a rare and excellent sword. Since I sense that you have a strong liking for it, I will give it to you."

Zhanbei heard this and was overjoyed.

He respectfully accepted "Qiuxishan" and felt the coolness emanating from the blade, as if a new force was flowing into his body.

He took a deep breath, adjusted his state, and then began to swing this sword.

Although Zhanbei had never learned any martial arts skills, thanks to his profound understanding of martial arts and excellent physical coordination, he managed to perform "Qiu Shui Han" with great skill and vigor. The swordlight was like a continuous stream, and it seemed as if a silver dragon was flying and circling in the air.

Every movement of his was filled with strength and beauty, as if he had merged with this sword and was jointly performing a magnificent sword dance.

The old man and the young girl beside him were completely stunned. They had never seen anyone be able to resonate so naturally with a sword and express its power so perfectly.

Although the swordsmanship of Zhanbei is simple and unadorned, it exudes an indescribable charm and atmosphere, making people unable to help but cheer for it.

"Excellent! Excellent swordsmanship!" The old man couldn't help but exclaim in admiration. His eyes shone with appreciation and astonishment. "Young man, you truly are a martial arts prodigy. This 'Qiu Shui Han' sword, when in your hands, can truly be said to have found its rightful owner."

Zhanbei smiled slightly and put away "Qiu Shui Han". You know, a good weapon is extremely important for a warrior. With "Qiu Shui Han", when he encounters that gang of robbers again, he is confident that he can single-handedly fight them without being at a disadvantage.

Since we have taken the old man's weapon, then Feng Huaxiao must be passed on to the old man.
