Chapter 45 - Eyes from the Shadows of the World

The **Death Zone**—as its name implies—is essentially a place one enters only as a sentence, a decision of suicide...

Only someone wanting to end their life might dare test its horrors...

In the present world, only *four* such places are known. Why? Because no one who entered ever returned to tell what they saw or experienced. Every soul that went there *stayed there*, buried with all they witnessed—or so the ancient texts say.

**The Fourth Zone** (In ancient times): *The Dead Sea*

Across the sky, infinite stars shimmered as if painted across the horizon. At the center floated a massive full moon, glowing with strong purple light.

It loomed on the horizon warmly, its size so vast it seemed you could reach out and touch it.

Beneath it lay glassy, quiet seas—so still it felt eerie. The only disturbance came from a colossal wooden ship—fit for an armada—anchored below. Three towering masts stood bare, sails furled. A small flag featuring a blue butterfly fluttered on the tallest mast.

Atop the mast perched a young girl under the purple moonlight. Pale, delicate, and motionless. Her attire was simple yet elegant: a rose-colored dress flowing softly, a short skirt revealing her slender legs, and a plain shirt beneath. Her sky-blue hair cascaded like a waterfall down her back. A triangular white bandage covered her closed eyes.

She raised a finger, as though touching threads of fate itself, upon which a single drop of water balanced—mirroring the entire scene. Then she whispered:

**"They've met, then. But... isn't it far too early?"**

Below her, the clank of steel rang out. A young man with short blue hair and clear blue eyes stood nearby, calm. His skin glowed under the violet moon. He looked at his sister and said:

**"You know the moon hears and sees everything you say, don't you?"**

In a single graceful leap, the girl descended the mast like a feather floating down, landing before him.

She smiled.

**"They've met: Sky, Moon, and Sun. They are joined… together."**

The boy ceased clashing his blades and looked at her, puzzled.

**"It's too early. I remember they still needed four more years..."**

She nodded, looking up at the moon.

**"Though they've gathered now, they still need five years of purification. It seems they will take shelter under the protection of Adam in the First City…"**

He scowled deeply at that name, eyes darkened. With precision, he sheathed both swords.

**"In that case, I will depart—for now. Five years… an eternity."**

She raised an eyebrow and tilted her head in curiosity:

**"… And where do you plan to go, brother?"**

He shrugged, nonchalant.

**"I've lingered in this Death Zone for four years. I can't stand it anymore. I want to see and speak with beautiful ladies. I'll leave—return in five years."**

She smiled mischievously, curling her lip.

**"What about me? Am I not a beautiful lady?"**

The boy scowled and clicked his teeth:

**"That doesn't matter. Beautiful or not… in the end you are my foolish sister whom I must care for."**

She bowed slyly, accentuating her charm.

**"Is there a problem with that? That I am your sister?"**

He sighed and raked his hand through his hair:

**"What kind of scum do you think I am—excited over my foolish sister? I prefer older women… with bigger... chests."**

She laughed lightly and leaned closer to him:

**"So, brother, where would you like us to go?"**

He placed a hand on his chin, musing:

**"the first City, ruled by Adam…and the Fourth City, ruled by Astaros... Then... we'll go to the Third City."**

With that decision, she snapped her fingers. The waters trembled—a melodious hum—and beneath the large wooden ship emerged a gargantuan creature.

It was an eel-like leviathan—gigantic, over a kilometer long—with a jaw wide enough to swallow several vessels at once, rows of fang-like teeth as tall as trees, and more than ten red eyes lined across its head.

Two massive tentacles, tied to the ship's prow, bellied outward. The beast let out a low roar, shaking the very world. The ship rocked violently as the monster dragged it deeper.

The girl whispered softly—and closed her eyes to the moon:

**"Perhaps the God loves this world after all..."**

Scene: The Third Death Zone —(In ancient times) Antarctica

Vast icy peaks stood aligned like fangs against the skyline, cutting through the heavens. Frigid winds battered the frozen land, extinguishing all life but for the monstrous predators that roamed.

Amid this desolation stood a lone wooden house painted in sunset orange and crimson—elegantly built. Wisps of smoke escaped its chimney, disappearing into the cold air.

Before it lay a massive rotating wheel. Three hybrid beasts—a combination of dog, wolf, and demon—ran endlessly inside it on six legs. Horns curled from their heads, tongues lolling, exhaustion shining through their red eyes. Yet not one creature dared stop.

The door swung open, revealing a breathtaking woman. Her faded orange hair glimmered like sunset rays; her ivory skin shone in the frosty air. She wore a thin robe that revealed her shoulders, a large chest, and a slender neck.

Beneath it, a short skirt and knee‑high socks hugged smooth thighs. Her orange eyes—shaped like blossomed blooms—were wide and mesmerizing. Long elf-like ears curved gracefully from her round face.

She sat on the porch steps, gazing up at the sky. Above her the moon glowed orange, bathing ice cliffs in eerie light.

With a snap of her fingers, a tea cup flew from the house into her hand. She smiled warmly:

**"They have met, then—Sky, Moon, and Sun: together. Though it may be too early."**

She turned her gaze to the panting beasts. Snapping her fingers again, three giant bowls filled with steaming, delicious meat appeared before them.

**"Eat slowly... and then return to running."**

The creatures obeyed, methodically feeding as if disciplined.

**"I don't know why they met so early. Moon… have I truly grown old already?"**

She sighed softly and took a sip of tea:

**"Maybe I shouldn't have sent my daughter, to the Academy. I gave birth to her in a truly dangerous era.. "**

Her eyes glowed with a refined elegance.

**"Perhaps... I must visit Adam again."**

She stared calmly at the moon against a starless sky.

"Perhaps the god doesn't love this world."

Scene: The First Death Zone — Once Known as Australia**

In a distant past, the land once called *Australia* had become the First Death Zone—an endless red desert stretching far beyond the horizon. A domain of pure desolation and nightmares, where terrors beyond understanding roamed freely.

Scarlet sands danced among jagged cliffs, towering dunes, and valleys so deep they seemed to pierce the planet's core. The entire region had long lost its right to stars—the sky above was barren, as though the stars themselves had fled in fear.

And at the heart of that haunting void hung a single moon: **crimson**, glowing like blood spilled across the heavens. It cast its sinister light upon the scorched red earth below.

On the edge of a cliff overlooking a vast abyss sat a figure—no, not merely a woman, but a **being** of overwhelming beauty, desire, and raw allure.

Her long, flowing green hair shimmered under the moonlight. Her pale skin, milk-white and glowing, seemed to drink in the light, making it nearly impossible to look away. Her emerald eyes held mesmerizing patterns—twisted and interwoven, like runes of seduction. From between her soft lips peeked two delicate fangs, adding danger to her beauty—like a serpent made divine.

She wore almost nothing—just thin bands of fabric wrapped loosely around her neck and body, barely covering her large chest or most intimate places. Her figure was exposed under the red moonlight, perfect and radiant, like a forbidden jewel from another world.

The seductive woman sighed, her gaze fixed upon the blood-moon.

**"So… they've met. The Sky, the Moon, and the Sun. The ones fated to pierce the heavens. Hmmm… truly beautiful, though far too early…"**

She hummed between her breath, her voice rich with honey and intoxication. A soft, sultry laugh escaped her lips—its echo cascading through the canyon below like a siren's call.

Behind her stood a man—tall, powerful. His short golden hair fluttered in the wind, and his golden eyes radiated silent strength. He wore practical clothes, suited for movement and combat—a fitted jacket and trousers.

Slung across his shoulder was a colossal sword—three meters long, wide enough for a grown man to lie across. He planted the blade into the ground and folded his arms, staring at the seductive woman.

**"You do know the Moon can hear and see you… don't you?"**

She turned to look at him over her shoulder, lips curved into a wicked smile.

**"Jealous, are you? Didn't you say, *'Do whatever pleases you, my love'*?"**

He sighed heavily, expression dark.

**"I regret saying that now. And what was that laugh for? Planning to lure every monster in this desert to us? Just so you know—I'm *not* fighting them again."**

The alluring woman kicked her feet playfully in the air, as if enjoying a game only she understood.

**"They've met. It begins. The world will finally move again…"**

He lifted a hand toward her, asking:

**"And where are they now?"**

She shrugged and rolled her eyes.

**"Seems they'll be under Adam's protection. We'll need to wait at least five years."**

The man scowled, his muscles tense, hands clenching.

**"Adam… that cursed bastard."**

In that moment, the woman vanished and reappeared in his arms—embracing him tenderly, like a lover seeking refuge in the man she trusted with her life. She tilted her head upward, placed her lips on his, and gave him a long, lingering kiss. They melted into one another.

After a few moments, she pulled away and whispered in her intoxicating voice:

**"No need to think about it now… we still have time."**

He looked into her glowing green eyes.

**"I admit, I love it when you do that. But you only do it when you want me to do something… *dangerous*."**

She twirled a strand of her hair around her fingers before locking her gaze into his, her eyes shimmering with seduction and intent.

**"Ahem… my love, I want you to go to the Third City—for me. Would you do that for the woman who loves you… and whom you love?"**

He let out a weary sigh and smiled awkwardly—completely disarmed before her beauty, helpless against the warmth he held for her.

**"I'll go. But not yet. I still need to collect my payment first."**

She smiled sweetly.

**"Of course. Your beloved will give you everything. I'll make sure to please you in every way you desire…"**

And just before the two vanished from the cliffside, the seductive woman turned her emerald eyes once more to the crimson moon and whispered:

**"Perhaps… the god has truly abandoned this world."**
