Jane swallowed hard.
"Do you~ feel anything? Hear anything? See anything?" Carly asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and concern.
"Crawl anything—" Theo blurted out, then immediately corrected himself. "I-I mean, feel anything crawling under your skin. Yeah, that." He gave a short, nervous chuckle that died quickly.
Jane finally lowered the phone, her hand trembling slightly. She blinked, as if trying to clear the strange light from her vision. "No," she replied, her voice surprisingly steady. She closed her eyes, focusing inward. "But..." she trailed off.
Everyone in the room seemed to lean forward, their ears perking up. "But what?" Ms. Michelle pushed gently.
