Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: One Punch Solution

🤗 Please if you find any incorrect names let me know in comments so I can fix them

The venue for the preliminary round was a square arena.

A total of 12 winning groups, meaning 36 people. In the best-case scenario, 18 people would advance.

These 18 people would enter the third round of the competition, which would determine who would become a Chunin.

For the arrangement of competitors, two ninja would be randomly selected to compete on a central LCD screen in the middle of the arena.

In this competition, death was a possibility in the preliminary round; there were no restrictions on dying. Of course, if you surrendered, the referee would step forward to help.

"Now, we will randomly select the contestants," Minato Namikaze said. He was the examiner and referee for this competition.

Perhaps it was also because the Five Great Ninja Villages had all come to Konoha, making this Chunin exam particularly special, with many well-known Konoha ninja serving as referees.

On the LCD screen to the side, two names appeared: Tianyuan and Kakukawa Stone.

"Oh, I didn't expect to be the first one," Tianyuan said, surprised.

As for Kakukawa Stone or whatever, he had never heard of him. He didn't know which unknown ninja he was. Tianyuan wouldn't worry at all about these Chunin exam ninja. With Tianyuan's strength, unless it was a Jonin or Kage from one of the ninja villages, it would be impossible for a Chunin to harm him.

"Tianyuan, let me see your strength," Orochimaru said with a slight smile.

But no matter how one looked at it, Orochimaru's smile seemed so cold.

"Orochimaru-sensei, that Kakukawa Stone probably won't allow me to exert much strength," Tianyuan said.

"Haha, go ahead," Orochimaru laughed. Orochimaru also knew Tianyuan's strength, which was considered top-tier among Chunin.

If Kakukawa Stone didn't have any special abilities, he wouldn't be Tianyuan's opponent, let alone force out Tianyuan's true strength.

"Orochimaru, you should know that Tianyuan is a true genius, even more remarkable than you," Jiraiya said from the side.

"More of a genius than me," Orochimaru chuckled. "I am well aware of that. But Jiraiya, what has Tianyuan done now?"

"That's a secret," Jiraiya said mysteriously.

"Tianyuan," Orochimaru's gaze turned to Tianyuan.

"Orochimaru-sensei, please allow me to keep you in suspense for now. I'll go down first," Tianyuan said, directly descending from the stands into the arena.

"Haha, Orochimaru, look, Tianyuan is still closer to me," Jiraiya chuckled.

"Whatever you say," Orochimaru shook his head.

"Tsunade, your disciple Shizune has also passed the Forest of Death," Jiraiya said, looking at Tsunade and Shizune beside her.

"Shizune almost didn't make it. Earlier, she and Kurenai encountered two Mist Ninja. If Tianyuan hadn't passed by, they would have been in danger," Tsunade shook her head.

"Is that so? I didn't expect the ninja participating in this Chunin exam to be so strong," Jiraiya said, surprised.

"That's how it is," Orochimaru said from the side. "Not only Konoha, but the other Four Great Ninja Villages are also stirring. So the ninja they've sent out are quite powerful within their villages, not just to showcase their strength in front of the Great Nation Daimyos during the final competition."

"True, it seems Kumogakure has even sent a Jinchuriki this time," Jiraiya mused.

"Precisely," Orochimaru's eyes gleamed. "After this Chunin exam, I'm afraid things will..."

In the arena.

After Tianyuan jumped into the arena, another ninja, who looked much older than Tianyuan, also jumped down.

This ninja was Kakukawa Stone, bearing the Hidden Stone headband. He was a Genin from the Hidden Stone Village.

"I can't believe my opponent is a Konoha kid! It looks like victory is within my grasp!" the ninja, who looked like an old man, declared loudly, as if afraid others wouldn't know who he was.

"Oh," Tianyuan said with a smile, shaking his head, waiting for Minato Namikaze to announce the start of the match.

In Tianyuan's opinion, this Hidden Stone ninja was just like a clown. He didn't even consider how Tianyuan managed to pass the Forest of Death.

Of course, even so, Kakukawa Stone might still believe that Tianyuan was merely lucky, encountering weaker or injured opponents, and thus taking advantage.

As for the ninja in the stands who knew Tianyuan, they exchanged knowing smiles. It seemed this Hidden Stone ninja's bragging was about to fail.

Especially Mei Terumī, as a ninja from the Hidden Mist Village and having personally experienced Tianyuan's power, she knew that Tianyuan possessed Jonin-level strength.

For this foolish Kakukawa Stone to try and defeat Tianyuan, it might only be possible in a dream.

"Tianyuan, defeat that Kakukawa Stone directly! Show him what you're made of!" Anko Mitarashi shouted loudly from above.

In this preliminary round, Anko's strength would actually rely on luck to pass.

If she was lucky and encountered a very weak opponent, she might pass, but if she met a strong one, she could be directly eliminated.

It was different for Tianyuan's other teammate, Uchiha Shijin.

"Alright, both of you, begin!" Minato Namikaze announced the start of the match.

Hearing the command, Kakukawa Stone immediately leaped backward, then several shuriken in his hand transformed into streaks of light and shot towards Tianyuan.

Pulling out a kunai, Tianyuan easily deflected the shuriken, and then his entire body vanished from Kakukawa Stone's sight.

"Not good!" When Kakukawa Stone saw Tianyuan again, Tianyuan had already appeared in front of him. So fast!

At that moment, Kakukawa Stone wanted to dodge and regroup, but his eyes could only perceive Tianyuan's smiling face.

Tianyuan's right fist directly slammed into Kakukawa Stone's abdomen. A powerful force burst through his body, sending Kakukawa Stone flying towards the wall.

"Boom!" Kakukawa Stone crashed into the wall, causing it to crack. He then slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and his head lolled to the side, completely out.

"Too weak," Tianyuan muttered, feeling a bit speechless.

The entire arena was silent. Tianyuan won the first match with an overwhelming victory.

One punch to solve the enemy.
