Chloe Pierce's POV
I can't focus on anything. The quarterly reports blur together on my computer screen while my mind races with thoughts of that damned napkin. Three hours have passed since Su Na walked away with Aiden's formula, and I still can't reach him.
"Pierce!"
I jump in my chair. Susan Wang stands beside my desk with her usual sneer. Her perfectly styled hair and designer blazer scream try-hard, but her cold eyes reveal the real predator underneath.
"What do you want, Susan?"
"Janet needs the Morrison files for the two o'clock meeting. Where are they?"
"On your desk. Where I put them an hour ago."
She rolls her eyes dramatically. "Not those files. The backup documents from Morrison's previous employers."
"I wasn't assigned to research her employment history."
"Well, you're assigned now. Janet wants a complete background check on Dr. Morrison before we commit twenty million yuan to this deal."
