"Don't tell me you've forgotten about that night in Cloud Lake Manor five years ago!" My voice cuts through the shattered conference room like a blade.
Alistair Webb stares up at me from the debris-covered floor. His face cycles through confusion, recognition, and then pure, absolute terror.
"No," he breathes. "It can't be. You're dead. You died in the fire with the rest of them."
"Did I?"
I step closer, glass crunching under my feet. The spiritual pressure radiating from my body makes the air itself feel heavy and oppressive.
"# Chapter 27 - Aiden Knight," he whispers, the name falling from his lips like a curse. "You're Aiden Knight."
"The trash of the Knight family," I say, echoing words I've heard countless times. "The worthless son who couldn't even awaken his martial arts potential."
His body begins to shake violently. "But you were nobody. Nothing. Just a weak kid who couldn't even—"
"Couldn't even what? Couldn't even save his family?"
