Chapter 256 - Chapter 257: National Fate World – Cannon Fodder Old Lady (23)

"Big Sis, don't worry! Lu An'an has already left safely—we can finally go all out!"

In Tang Xiaomei's sea of consciousness, Bier's crisp little voice rang out. Upon receiving the update, she immediately activated her Plan B.

First, Tang Xiaomei took a Signal-Jamming Stone from her backpack, then submitted an Energy Stone to the game assistant to activate it.

"Ding! Adventurer An Xiaomei, you have successfully activated the Signal-Jamming Stone. You now have 30 minutes of livestream-blocking time.

This time can be used all at once or in segments.

Please remember to monitor the countdown carefully. Have a pleasant experience!"

After so many days of hiding and playing it safe, An Xiaomei had long been suffocating with frustration. Now that she'd successfully activated the jammer, she was ready to fight back without holding anything back.

Meanwhile, the viewers outside her livestream were completely dumbfounded when the screen suddenly went black—only a text notification from the game appeared:

"Due to a special in-game bug, Adventurer An Xiaomei's livestream is temporarily under repair. Reopening time: unknown."

[Wait, what's going on? I've watched other adventurers' streams and never seen this happen!]

[Seriously? It was just getting to the best part—why this sudden blackout?]

[Unbelievable. Even foreign game streams have this kind of nonsense now.]

The Longguo (Dragon Nation) experts monitoring the broadcast were equally baffled. Up until now, the game had only ever censored private or overly gory scenes. Something like this had never happened before.

But An Xiaomei didn't have time to care about that. Ten mutant fishmen surrounded her, and she chose the quickest way to end the fight.

"Bier, burn them all—leave the big one in the middle for me!"

The moment her sister gave the order, Bier, who'd been itching to act, struck without hesitation. Pale blue flames blossomed like eerie flowers all over the fishmen's bodies—strangely beautiful, almost mesmerizing.

Only the fishmen themselves knew how deadly that beauty was.

Within a second, the flames had burned straight through their tough, scaly hides. Even when they fell and rolled on the ice, the fire refused to go out.

Three seconds later, nothing remained but nine piles of ash. A light breeze blew past—and even the ashes vanished without a trace.

The lone survivor trembled violently, collapsing with a thud, legs turning to jelly. Gone was its earlier ferocity.

"Ding! Congratulations, Adventurer An Xiaomei! You have slain 9 Mutant Fishmen. Reward: 1 Intermediate Resource Chest."

Perfect. Her guess was right—the game couldn't detect Bier's attacks. All the loot still went to her. Absolutely perfect.

An Xiaomei's voice turned cold.

"Lead the way. I want to speak with your Fishman King. If you don't cooperate, you'll end up just like your companions."

The fishman captain nodded frantically, terrified that even a moment's delay would turn him to ash.

An Xiaomei summoned her Interstellar Flyer from storage and, within a minute, arrived at the fishmen's island.

Before landing, she put on the Shapeshifting Mask she'd earned earlier—better safe than sorry.

Stepping onto the island, she went straight toward the heavily guarded mine without hesitation.

As for the guide? Bier had already "taken care" of him. If not for the slow speed of her purchased Pathfinder Device, she wouldn't have bothered keeping that fishman alive even for a minute.

Recalling his look of disbelief right before death, An Xiaomei's lips curved upward.

If you don't pull weeds up by the roots, you're just planting landmines for yourself.

No sooner had she entered the area than she ran into a patrol of mutant fishmen. She didn't waste words—Bier incinerated them all.

In just three minutes, An Xiaomei reached the base of the mine. Most of the fishmen, terrified by her ruthless display, fled in panic. None dared to stay behind and die.

"Ding! Congratulations, Adventurer An Xiaomei! You have discovered the Energy Stone Mine guarded by the Mutant Fishmen."

An Energy Stone Mine—no wonder security was so tight. There was no way she was leaving it untouched.

With a sweeping motion, she summoned interstellar work robots and dozens of ore crushers from her inventory.

Soon, the air filled with the rhythmic clang-clang of excavation.

Inside his cavern, the Fishman King roared in fury upon hearing the noise.

"Someone! Go check what's happening outside!"

But no one answered—not even after he shouted several times. Unease gnawed at him, and he rushed out to see for himself.

The sight before him made his scales crawl—half the Energy Stone Mine had already been stripped bare, and strange machines were still digging greedily.

The proud Fishman King went berserk, charging forward to tear apart the intruders—only to be engulfed by Bier's pure alien fire the instant he stepped out.

Even with his strong physique, he lasted only six seconds longer than his kin. Six seconds of agony.

"Why…? We had no quarrel…"

Those were his last words. The Fishman King died without ever understanding why this human—whose face he didn't even recognize—had brought ruin to his tribe.

High above, a mutant sky-eagle patrol noticed the disturbance and immediately flew back to report.

"What? You're saying the Fishman King is dead? And it was a strange human man who killed him?"

The Eagle King was stunned. The two clans had long been allies, and he knew well how strong the Fishman Tribe was.

"What about the Energy Stone Mine?" he asked sharply.

If his old ally was dead, he wasn't about to let that vast wealth go to waste. He'd coveted it for years.

"T-that too… was mostly mined away by that person."

Now the Eagle King was truly furious. To lose both ally and profit—how could he stand it?

"Gather the clan immediately! I want a hundred elite warriors to come with me—move fast, no mistakes allowed!"

Meanwhile, An Xiaomei looked at the nearly exhausted mine with regret. Still, she couldn't let others profit from it.

"Bier, burn it all. Not a single Energy Stone left."

The decision left a bitter taste, but her Signal-Jamming Stone's time was almost up.

In the final 30 seconds, she boarded her flyer and sped away from the area.

As for the scattered mutant fishmen, she didn't bother chasing them—after all, her current face wasn't even real.

But the mutant sky-eagle commander that had wounded her earlier? That one, she definitely wouldn't let go.

Meanwhile, having escaped to a safe zone, Lu An'an confirmed there were no pursuers and quickly sent a message to her idol:

"Goddess, are you safe?"
