Chapter 276 - Chapter 276

The shark-headed fishman before them now revealed an indescribably sinister grin.

He stood up to his full height—nearly three meters tall—making him appear overwhelmingly imposing.

Paired with his teeth glinting coldly under the light, the fishman exuded an aura of sheer brutality.

Any ordinary person would be terrified out of their wits at the sight of such a monster, but in Jake's eyes, these creatures had already been sentenced to death.

If they had merely insulted him, Jake wouldn't have been angry—he wouldn't bother with such trash.

But these fishmen had also insulted Monet, and judging by their demeanor, this wasn't the first time they had tormented humans.

They had likely done unspeakable things to human couples before.

For scum like this, Jake wouldn't spare even a shred of pity or mercy.

He smiled and said to Monet.

"Seems like we've stumbled into the most notorious part of Fishman Island—Fishman District. Their luck really isn't great. But no matter, since we've run into these guys, let's give Fishman Island a little warning. I'm not like Whitebeard, after all.

He's an absolute hero, with a frighteningly broad mind. But I'm different—I'm a petty man. Especially when it comes to bastards who insult those I care about. I won't hold back."

Monet nodded in agreement and asked.

"Should I freeze the area to keep them from escaping?"

"No need. Just encase their corpses in ice later. This place is far too chaotic, and they've grown too complacent under Whitebeard's protection. These aren't ordinary fishmen anymore—they need to see the iron fist from the surface world! We must strike hard!

Even if the royal family of Fishman Island has complaints later, so be it. Time will prove whether what I've done is right or wrong."

With that, Jake took two slow steps forward, his voice dripping with icy killing intent as he addressed the blue shark-headed fishman who had spoken earlier.

"Care to tell me how you'd like to die? Electrocution? Dismemberment? Or beaten to death by fists?"

Hearing Jake's words, the fishman's eyes turned blood-red.

He roared and charged at Jake.

"I'll kill you!"

As he spoke, he swung the massive two-meter-long greatsword beside him straight at Jake's head.

Watching the fishman charge, Jake's lips curled into a grin as he declared.

"Finger Pistol: Divine Strike!"

With a flick of his fingers in the air, the blue shark-headed fishman was instantly riddled with holes.

However, Jake chose not to kill him outright

. After shattering all four of his limbs, he spoke calmly.

"Very often, people must pay a price for the words they speak. Don't you agree? But I need you to witness everything. Fish-Man Island will soon fall under the Marines's jurisdiction. And let me make one thing clear—fishmen are no nobler than humans.

If you insist that fishmen are superior to humans, then you will die here. Of course, even if you don't say it, you'll still die here."

The next moment, under the shark-headed fishman's horrified gaze, Jake transformed into a bolt of lightning, darting through the ranks of the fishmen he had led.

Amidst the spray of blood and agonized screams, in less than ten seconds, every single one of his followers lay dead.

Their corpses were instantly frozen, the terror and resentment in their eyes still vividly preserved.

Only then did the fishman realize the terrifying force he had provoked.

Staring blankly at the carnage before him, his pupils dilated as he muttered in disbelief.

"This can't be… This can't be…"

"Nothing is impossible. From this day forward, Fish-Man Island will no longer be a haven for trash like you. Either embrace the future with open arms—or die."

A bolt of lightning shot from Jake's hand, piercing the fishman's chest and electrocuting him on the spot.

To maximize his suffering, Jake carefully controlled the intensity of the lightning, ensuring he endured prolonged torment before death.

It wasn't that Jake didn't want to handle these fishmen with a gentler approach.

But according to his moral perception, the evil within them was no different from the prisoners in Impel Down who deserved to die a thousand times over!

Showing mercy to such creatures would be a betrayal of all truly good-hearted people!

Monet encased the fishman's body in ice, then turned to Jake with a smile.

"Leave it here? Or should we move it somewhere else?"

"Here is fine. By the way, Monet, can you freeze this entire street? We need to make a stronger statement."

Hearing this, Monet nodded softly.

"No problem. But… won't this be a bit excessive? Whitebeard did tell us our main objective was peaceful negotiations with the king."

Jake merely smiled in response.

"If I help the king prevent an assassination plot against the royal family, I think he'll approve of my methods."

"You mean… those fishmen were actually part of Fish-Man Island's rebel forces?!"

"More or less. The moment we arrived on this island, I spread my Observation Haki across most of it. I heard their plans and even where they hid the real schematics. We'll capture those scum, hand over the documents to King Neptune, and with Whitebeard's letter of introduction, I'm sure the king will make the right choice."

Jake gazed at the Fish-Man Street silently frozen by Monet, a cold glint flashing across his face.

Fish-Man Street had to be destroyed and rebuilt.

As long as this street existed, true peaceful coexistence between fish-men and humans would remain impossible!

....

Meanwhile, on the other side, Jinbe the Knight of the Sea looked at the anxious fish-man before him with a grim expression.

"You're saying someone has frozen the entire Fish-Man Street and is currently slaughtering everyone inside, correct?!"

"Yes! Boss Jinbe, please save them! That monster isn't human—he can control lightning and light! Our brethren can't withstand even a single move from him. Over half of Fish-Man Street has already been destroyed!"

"Damn it!"
