As he sat there, he heard the voice of the brush spirit within say "You've had a big day. A lot to take in. You need to center yourself. Come in to your Heart Palace and we can have a chat."
"How do I do that?" asked Sheung.
She instructed him to sit cross-legged on the bed, breath deeply and will himself to be standing under the peach blossom tree he had briefly visited before. He did so and in a breath, he was back in the Heart Palace.
This time, without being rushed, Sheung marvelled at the solid realness of his body. He clapped his hands together and waved them in the air before his face. He jumped up and down and did a few kicks.
"This seems so real," exclaimed Sheung.
Longyin laughed "Of course it's real. This is the REAL you. Your soul body. This is where your powers lie, where your chi flows and where you can cultivate yourself to the level of a celestial master. In most people this place doesn't exist like it does for you here. It is just a vague state of unconsciousness. Your grandfather spent many years diligently training and, with some help from the Great Dragon and I, managed to build this inner Heart Palace space."
"Before he passed away, your grandfather transferred the whole space into the brush, where it lay neglected under your bed for years, waiting for you to come of age. Now it is all yours. It holds many powerful secrets programmed into it, and has a variety of different landscapes you can choose from."
As she said this the scene of the peach blossom tree and stone table disappeared, and they were suddenly standing in a large training hall with walls lined with weapons and other devices.
"This is your training hall, where you can practice martial arts forms and body strengthening exercises."
The scene changed again and Sheung found himself in a room or hall filled with rows of tall rectangular stones, each one carved with elaborate sigils and characters."
"This is the Hall of FU, where the master copies of all the FU talismans in your grandfather's book are stored. Each one has been crafted and consecrated with the blessing of all the gods in the Celestial Court."
"What is a FU?"
"FU are powerful talismans that can serve many purposes to a Taoist mage like your grandfather…and you."
"Me?....hardly," Said Sheung sadly. I wish I knew about all this world of magic sooner. Why was I kept in the dark?"
"That is not your grandfather's fault. When your mum and dad split up it tore you away from this world of magic. You were supposed to be trained as the next Dragonblood heir under your father…but," Longyin flinched like she received some kind of electric shock.
"Oh it is getting very late. You have a big day tomorrow. Better get some rest. Good night," said Longyin as she bopped him on the head with the brush.
"But what happened with my…" mumbled Sheung as he sunk into sleep.
