The next two days went by in a blur of activity, noise, and—for Kael—aggressive avoidance of responsibility.
Down in the basement levels of the Library, the headquarters of Morta had transformed into a war room. Theo, Seraphina, and Liri were completely occupied with the recruitment drive. They had set up a makeshift screening center, drafting intake forms, organizing interviews, and creating a database of potential members.
Surprisingly—or perhaps unsurprisingly, given the shiny new Level 2 badges and the high-quality flyers—a lot of people actually turned up.
That morning, Kael had made the mistake of walking down to the office to grab a snack. He found a line of students stretching from the faction door all the way to the stairwell. There were nervous First Years clutching their resumes, ambitious combat-types looking for a team, and even a few stragglers from other classes curious about the "mysterious new power."
