Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

LIAM…

"Assholes" Liam commented rudely as he took a sip from his glass, he had his eyes fixed outside the glass walls as he looked down on the busy streets.

It was exactly 7:30pm and Liam was still in the office, knowing fully well that he was suppose to meet someone an hour ago. Not that the lady would mind, he could bet half his fortune that if he arrived there three hours late, he would still find her lingering around.

The girl was like a pest that he couldn't get rid off, 'not exactly' he could if he wanted to, but he kept her around because she was as dumb as a six year old.

After taking one final look at the busy streets, he turned his back and walked towards his desk.

He could hear his phone buzzing from on top his desk but he didn't have to look to know who was calling, she had left him twenty voice messages in the last hour. He took a mental note to give her a stern warning to never call him as he grabbed his suit jacket.

He walked out of his office where his men were waiting for him.

"Good evening boss"

They both greeted in unison but Liam didn't even spare them a glance as he walked inside his private elevators. They both followed suit as they were already used to his arrogance by now.

The entire time his mind kept traveling back to the conversation he had with his father this morning. The old man took the opportunity to jump at him while he was having breakfast and brought up a rather disturbing topic.

Not that it was news to Liam anyway, he knew this day would come, he just didn't expect it to be this soon. Especially not now that he had his plate full, one of their biggest clients in the firm, a mob boss, has a case coming up and he had to represent him.

Liam had one rule in his business and that was to never ask his client wether or mot they committed the crime they are being accused off. He had no interest in knowing wether or not his client was guilty, his job was to prove that he wasn't.

He had gone through the files earlier today and it was pretty obvious who the guilty person was but Liam didn't care, he just had to do what his client was paying him big money to, prove that he's not guilty.

He could have had one of his associates or junior partners take up the case but he had received intel that the attorney on the other side of the bar was none other than Xander Yang.

Just thinking about his name made Liam's blood boil as he stepped out of the elevator, his men walked ahead of him to help him with the car.

Liam Sy could be called many names but petty was not one of them, but that didn't seem to be the case whenever it involved Xander Yang. The CEO of Yang International, one of the top ten best law firms in the country but of course the Sy law firm was still on top.

Liam settled inside his black Rolls Royce Cullinan as he let his mind drift off, his face stayed emotionless as ever as his hands made gentle rhythms on the arm rest of the car.

He thought of cancelling his meeting and just heading straight to his villa but the girl had mentioned earlier in her text that she had something important to share with him.

He still remembered the shitty text she sent this afternoon while he was having a business meeting.

"Can't wait to see you tonight (smiley kissy emoji) (red hearts) P.S I have some information that I think would be helpful"

The girl was a love sick fool and he was more than ready to take advantage of that, ever since she met him at one of the Charity events her family hosted, she had been clinging unto him like a lovesick fool.

At first he wanted to get rid of her, and he did but the girl was persistent and being the cunning and calculating man that he was, he succeeded in using her as a spy in her father's company. The Sinclair Global group.

The car stopped at one of the most luxurious hotel in the city, it didn't take long before one of his men came out to help hold the door for him.

He stepped out and paused for a few seconds as he observed the building in front of him, he had been to this hotel many times in the past six months because this was the only spot he could meet with her in secret.

He walked inside the building with his hands in his pocket, not sparing a glance at the eyes watching him. Yes he was completely aware of how handsome he looked and the staffs here was making it completely obvious to him.

Sometimes they seem to forget that he was their boss, yes, Luxe Lagoon was yet another one of the many hotels he owned in the country.

He got in the elevator and stopped to give out orders

"Wait here" He order as the elevator doors closed.

He didn't want them to go up there with him because he knew they would report back to that old man and of course he would ask questions. He wouldn't mind if his father knew he was meeting someone but he sure as hell would be in a lot of trouble if the old man finds out the name of the person he was meeting.

He got to the first floor in no time as he strode down the hall, he knew exactly where he would find her. The door was unlocked and so he gently pushed it open as he walked in and closed the door behind him.

The room was dark and he could tell it was not because the electricity was down, the stupid girl must have planned out some kind of surprise for him but he was not in the mood for her games tonight.

"Hello Attorney Sy"

Her words came out sultry and any man would be turned on by that but Liam was not in the mood for her sex games. He reached his hand out to the wall and turned on the lights.

She was sitting on the king sized bed with her legs crossed, dressed in nothing but a pair of red lingerie. Liam's eyes met hers and he could see the blush on her cheek, big brown eyes that matched her long dark silky hair that was sprawled on her shoulders.

He had to hand it to her, she had the body of one of those famous pornstars on the internet and any man would get a hard on from just watching her, which was was one of the reason why he kept her around. She was a good fuck.

"I don't have time for this " He spoke, his words dark as he took a step closer to her.

" Are you sure Attorney Sy, I've got the information right there" she spoke while nudging her head to the envelop on the table. "I've missed you" she had a seductive smile on her lips as she stood up and reached her hands out to touch him.

Liam pulled back, and without saying a word to her, he reached his hand out to grab the envelop from the table. He turned his back and was about to leave when he heard her voice again . 'The girl really had no idea when to shut up'

"Are you not going to touch me, it's been long since…." She spoke slowly as she reached her hand out to caress his back but that only seem to upset him the more.

He turned abruptly and gave her a deadly stare

"I am in no mood for your games tonight Elena. Go home"

He spoke coldly before turning his back and walking out of the hotel room, living the girl confused and embarrassed.
