Chapter 4 - TODDLEY JENGA

Toddley Jenga was in his office when he received a memo from the HR department. It was to inform him that a business dinner had been scheduled to hold with Luke&Queen Company a week from today in celebration of their just signed contract. Toddley read the memo again and let out a brief smile. He was going to see her again.

From the very first day Toddley met Leila Johnson, he liked her. She was an attractive and industrious woman. He liked her kind of personality. He kept wondering why she wasn't married yet. Maybe he was thinking too far now but he would like to have her by his side for the rest of his life if possible. She made him feel things he never felt about anyone before.

After meeting her the first day, she was the only thing on his mind. He loved the way she walked, talked, expressed herself and carried out her job. He noticed how she stole glances at him sometimes but didn't want to think much about it. It might mean nothing. A lot of people looked at him that way. Besides, she was too pretty to want to take notice of him. She might even be hooked up with someone. He tried his very best to be composed whenever he was around her.

On the day the deal with Luke&Queen Company was signed, he wanted to talk to her after her presentation. Seeing her looking so gorgeous in her elements made him admire her the more. After the deal was signed and everyone talked with each other, he pretended to be gathering some documents but deep down, he was thinking of how to approach her. What was he going

to say? They had only official dealings with each other. What if she didn't like him the way he did?

And just as he was going through a lot of 'what' questions in his head, he saw her approaching him so elegantly with an alluring smile on her face. He could feel his heart pounding against his chest. While Leila talked to him, he just watched her lips move and wish he could kiss it. He wanted

this woman so badly. Right there, he told himself he was going to engage her in a conversation and all his nonsense brain could come up with was "by the way, you did well", 'what nonsense' he thought to himself. He honestly wanted to slap his fore face there but made a mental note to do that multiple times whenever he was alone. He didn't stand there for long after she said

thank you lest he embarrassed himself more. Out of shame and embarrassment, he hurriedly left the conference room to deliberate on how foolish he had been.

Toddley was used to being sought after, being chased after by various women. But this time, he was the one going after what he wanted. He wasn't regular to things like this and didn't know how to handle it. He knew he liked Leila so much but getting close to her as much as he wanted was what he doubted would happen. And now, after their contract had been signed, there was

little or no chance of seeing her. He wanted to see her as much as he didn't want to appear to be a maniac, contacting her out of nowhere. He decided to give it little time and see what happens. After all it is said 'que sera sera' - what will be will be.

Finally, the universe came to his rescue - a business dinner with Luke&Queen Company. He was sure that she was going to be there. Toddley was so excited that he had started thinking of what to wear already. He had to look his best, he had to put in his best, he had to impress her. He had to make it work. He wasn't going to make a fool out of himself again by probably asking her if

she loved chips, 'weird'. He was going to make intentional efforts to indirectly tell her what he felt in his heart, or show her. For the next one week, Leila Johnson and getting her on his side was all Toddley could think of. He couldn't wait.
