Harold's sword cleared its sheath in the same motion he used to turn, the blade catching what little light filtered through the forest canopy and throwing it back in a thin line.

In less than two seconds, he assessed the situation, drawing on four decades of combat experience. John Osborn was twenty meters ahead, Morgan was somewhere behind him, already setting up formation nodes in the ground, and Sai was positioned at the southern tree line, keeping an eye on the approach.

Though it was three against one, and the odds seemed stacked against him, the difference in skill and cultivation was so significant that the numbers did not play a crucial role here.

What concerned him was the fourth.

Robert was not visible.
