Chapter 4 - The Price

"Take, drink this." Violet said, offering a glass of water to Rhea after taking her to her room.

Rhea shook her head and began signing to her.

Violet sighed and dropped the glass on a table. She opened her phone notepad and then gave it to Rhea.

Rhea immediately collected it and typed, 'You have to help my dad. You know he will never do such a thing.'

Violet read the words on the phone and replied, "I know that, but the accusation against him is a big deal, Rhea. If he was just accused of stealing, then I would have been able to convince my mom to let it go, but a map of our pack territory was found in his bag. Why will he have that if he truly wasn't intending to give it to a rival pack?"

Rhea shook her head and typed, 'My dad isn't a traitor. Please help him; you are the Luna, so please do something.'

Violet sighed and remained silent, but after a while, she spoke, "I can help you. I can convince my parents to make this a misunderstanding and free your dad. I can make sure that this case never reaches the Alpha because if it does, then Sebastian will killed him. He doesn't forgive traitors, and I don't want you to lose your father."

Rhea smiled and typed, 'Thank you.'

"You shouldn't thank me yet, Rhea, because there is a price you will have to pay for me to help Mr. Daniel."

'Tell me, I will do anything.' Rhea immediately typed with no hesitation.

"Remember what we talked about earlier. If you agree to carry Sebastian's baby, then I will convince my parents to forget about all this and free your dad."

Rhea frowned at Violet, unable to believe the words that just came out of her mouth.

"Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like I have said something wrong. I am the Luna. I have the power to release your dad right this moment, and I am ready to do so despite the fact that your dad has committed an act of treason, but because you are my friend, my best friend, I am ready to forget it all and ensure this matter does not reach Sebastian, and the only thing I ask is for you to bear his child."

Rhea felt defeated after listening to Violet. Her dad was not a thief, and he definitely wasn't a traitor. It is surely a misunderstanding, or maybe he has been framed, but who would frame a kindhearted man like him? Who would do such a cruel thing to him? Is accepting Violet's proposal her only way out?

Seeing that Rhea was thinking about, Violet decided to hit the nail on the head: "I would say you have much time to think about it, but you must give your answer now. Will you do it, or will your father be killed for treason? You know he is getting tortured as we speak, but just a yes from you will bring an end to everything."

Her dad was getting tortured? Rhea clenched her fist, and a tear slipped from her eyes as she nodded.

Violet sighed softly and asked again to confirm, "You will really do it?"

Rhea saw the smile on Violet's face and felt angry. Angry at the fact that her friend was taking advantage of her helplessness.

She looked at the phone in her hands and typed, 'Since I have agreed, can you tell them not to hurt my dad? Can you let him go now?'

"No. Not yet, Rhea." Violet said.

Rhea frowned and typed furiously, 'Why?'

"Because you might go back on your words, and I can't allow that, but don't worry, your dad won't be hurt. I promise. He will be fed properly, and no one will harm him, but your dad will only be set free once the deed has been done; that is, once you have slept with Sebastian, your dad will be a free man, and I give you my word as the Luna."

'You are a bad friend.' Rhea furiously types again.

Violet scoffed when she read it. "Am I the bad friend? Really, Rhea? After everything I have done for you? It is thanks to me you had new clothes when your dad could only afford rags, and it is because of me you no longer get bullied in this pack. I have been your shield since we met, and now when I needed you the most, you left me, and I know why you did it. I'm sure you have been jealous of me since we met, and when you thought that I would no longer be Luna once I couldn't get pregnant before the year's end, you must have been happy, and don't even try to deny it. You are the bad friend, Rhea, not me. You know, you are so selfish. You want me to help you save your dad even after all the evidence against him, but you can't even help me to retain my position? Fine, let's forget it. You go your way, and I will go mine, and as for your father, he can rot in that cell till Sebastian decides to kill him for his act of betrayal."

Rhea shook her head and quickly typed, 'Sorry. You are right, it's my fault. Please don't let them kill my father. I will do whatever you say, so please save my dad.'

Violet sighed. "You know I love you very much, Rhea. You are my only true friend, and I can never abandon you. For now, you have to go back home while I handle everything, but don't worry, I will call you when it's time."

Rhea nodded and stood up. She walked to the door, but before she could leave, she heard Violet's voice.

"You must remember not to tell anybody about this. No one must know about this."

Rhea turned to her and slowly nodded before leaving.

After Rhea left, Violet laughed and whispered, "My mom is really a genius. With her father's life in my hands, Rhea will not be able to escape me. Now, I have to speak to Sebastian."
