Chapter 26 - INTERLUDE: The Book of Forgotten Prophecies

> "Some truths are buried not to be lost — but to be delayed."

– Nyxa, Seer of the Hollow

---

The Room Beneath the Roots

There are places even the Hollow fears.

One such place lies beneath the Vision Tree, hidden beneath layered spells and forgotten by every vampire but one.

Nyxa alone has the key.

She walked the midnight corridor without footsteps. Her shadow didn't move. And when she reached the final gate, she whispered three names — names no longer spoken in the world of men.

The door opened.

Inside waited a single object:

A black book, bound in memory and sealed with a heartbeat.

> The Book of Forgotten Prophecies.

---

Truths Never Told

Nyxa opened it carefully.

Its pages shifted on their own, revealing truths even the Council refused to acknowledge:

❖ The First Prophecy

> "A child of shadow and mercy will walk between flames.

He will be cursed to feel both hunger and hope.

His blood shall not obey. His steps shall not be owned."

Nyxa paused, tracing the old ink.

> "Jayden."

---

❖ The Second Prophecy

> "The Mirror Flame shall rise, forgotten by fire, embraced by ruin.

She will carry chains not made of metal, but of silence."

> "Seraya…"

Nyxa closed her eyes.

> "You were both made to fall in love with freedom."

---

❖ The Third Prophecy — Erased by the Council

This page was charred. Nearly unreadable.

But some words remained:

> "When the Lightbearer and the Mirror Flame reunite…

the gods shall tremble.

And the world shall divide — not into two… but into three."

> "Three paths…"

Nyxa whispered to herself.

> "Not loyalty. Not rebellion. But… liberation."

---

Who Wrote the Book?

No vampire did.

No god would allow it.

It is believed the book was written by a being older than even the gods — The Scribe of Dust, a myth whispered only in the oldest bloodlines.

A being who records the versions of the world that never made it.

> And maybe… just maybe… this world is one of them.
