Chapter 2 - 8 Million

John POV

I've been walking inside the forest for a couple of hours now, and no signs of human civilization.

As for why I'm looking for a human civilization, I have questions that need to be answered. But before I do that, I'll need to rob a few folks. I don't have a darn clue where I am, nor do I even know what language these people will speak. But what I do know is that I need money in a civilized society… I know that too well; it's what got me to my profession.

After a few minutes of walking straight, I heard laughter to my left. Looking at the direction, I saw that there was smoke coming out.

I lowered myself and sneaked behind them. They were speaking another language that I somehow understood. It sounded Chinese, Korean, or Japanese. Hell, one of them countries, all I knew was it wasn't English.

I glanced at the surroundings and saw how dirty the place was. Beer bottles were everywhere and the houses were shabby, even a retard could build it.

What caught my attention was their clothing. It was clothing you'll never see in the 21st century, unless you were in some kind of backwards country. Their clothing was raggy and filthy, full of grease and blood stains. All of them carried some kind of weapon, be it a sword, a gun, or even a damn bow.

I scanned the area more and saw that one of the houses had a pile of women's bodies. Judging from their faces and torned clothing, they were most likely raped and killed.

'Bandits.' I thought to myself.

I've dealt with bandits before, but not like these. The so called "Bandits" in the midwest were just inbred crackheads that fucked their sister too much. Compared to those "Bandits," this bunch looked like well-trained knights.

Scanning the area one last time, I saw that this bunch wasn't so smart. They had 0 lookout and all of them gathered around 1 campfire. There's about 7 of them fucktards, the perfect number to show my good shot.

I stood up straight, which caused the bush I was in to rustle. The sound caused all the bandits to perk up and turn my direction.

I readied my hands on my hip, where my revolver was placed, "Well now, boys… I got six bullets and there's seven of y'all. Mind doin' me a favor and one of ya takin' yourself out?"

The biggest bandit, whom I assumed to be their boss, eased up, seeing that there was only one person. The boss bandit placed his giant axe on his shoulder and spoke,

"Who the hell are you supposed to be? Are you a bounty hunter?"

I cocked an eyebrow, "Y'all got bounties on your heads? I don't buy it. How much we talkin'?"

One of the crooks got angry and yelled, "You bastard! How dare you pretend you've never heard of the Star Bandits?! We're worth over 8 million Barries!"

With a confused face, I asked, "What in tarnation? Y'all usin' fruit for money?" The bandits looked confused and didn't answer, so I had to ask, "Alright then… how much's that worth in U.S. dollars?"

The bandit leader scoffed and looked back to order his men, "Go kill him."

One of his men raised his gun, which caused the leader to smile. But before his men could react and before he could turn his head back to me, he heard 6 gunshots.

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

I blew out the smoke that came out of my revolver and said, "Your goons were a little slow there, buddy."

He finally turned his head back to me and glared, "You… You're no bounty hunter… If you were, I would've heard-"

Before he could finish, a knife was already in his forehead. I wasn't about to listen to someone speak when I had things to do.

I walked towards the corpses of the women and buried their body one by one. Although I had no time, I could make some time for the restless innocent.

As for the corpses of the bandits, I took all the money they had and their heads. I may not know where to claim the bounty, but I should keep these just to make sure. And from what the bandit said earlier, bounty hunters were well known in this country.

After searching every corner of this place, I found a total of 20 thousand berries. Turns out, the so-called "berries" weren't really the fruit, but a real currency. And from the looks of it, 20 thousand isn't much. If those weak bastards were worth 8 million, then 20 thousand shouldn't matter much, unless they were somehow the strongest in this country.

Finishing the clean up and taking the bandits' heads, I found a path leading down the hill. After a few minutes, the path disappeared, but looking around, there was some blood on the grass. It was small and hard to see, but there was a pattern.

The pattern was leading to one place: a village. I'm guessing the blood was from the woman and not the bandits, because they had no sign of injuries before I killed them.

I walked towards the village that was now nothing but burnt houses and dead men. All the houses were looted, and the children were killed. Woman corpes looked like they were raped on the spot, and even some kids…

I looked down at the 6 heads of the bandits that I killed and said, "These nasty bastards… shoulda took my time killin' ya."

After burying all the dead bodies, I learned something important. And that was the fact that I wasn't in my world. Some of the dead men were over 7 feet tall, and in my world, the NBA would've hunted these guys before the bandits could even lay their hands on them. Especially the dark skinned ones.

"Vice Admiral! I think we're too late!"

A voice suddenly rang out behind me, and when I turned around, I saw men in white uniforms walking towards the village. There were about 20 of them, and from the looks of it, they were well trained.

Not knowing if they were an enemy, I quickly drew out my rifle and made my way towards a burnt house. I placed the heads of the bandits on the ground and pinned myself to the wall, ready to shoot at any moment.

"I can see that!" The man in the middle yelled.
