Lyra's POV
"Rise and shine." There was a tug of the duvet, pulling me away from the comfort of its warmth. My body shuddered as my hand reached to pull the duvet back.
"What time is it?" I grumbled.
"It's 6:30AM."
My eyes shot open and I was greeted by Jakub in his foul mood. "Six fucking thirty?! Give me a break, will you? I only had four hours of sleep!"
Though I usually slept less than four hours years ago, now that I felt the comfort of this bed, the soft cushiony pillow where I nestled my head and the sound of the sea breeze outside, I had never had a good sleep in my entire life!
Jakub only gave me that resigned look. He shook his head and grumbled, "You are expected to be ready, Miss Lyra. Have you forgotten that you had to make an audience for the council along with Master Julian?"
I groaned, ruffling my red hair as a habit. "Yeah, I know, I know. But it doesn't have to be this early! Can't Julian just fly us there to the council?"
