Chapter 221 - Chapter 221: The Immortal Ninja's Attack!

Chapter 221: The Immortal Ninja's Attack!

Is there no limit to your ability to learn ninjutsu?!

The excitement on Minato Namikaze's handsome face faded, replaced by a numb acceptance. He took the sword, Little Jizō, and inspected the "Sword of Ninja Love" mark carved near its hilt. Ah, my beloved sword... is now another's beloved sword...

He had thought his own speed in mastering the Rasengan was impressive enough. He never imagined that Keisuke's speed in mastering the improved Flying Thunder God would be even faster. The Rasengan was an A-rank jutsu, and while he had the foundation, he had still used a "speedrun" shortcut. The Flying Thunder God was an S-rank jutsu, and Minato's version contained not just the original's principles, but also his own unique insights into sealing techniques. He had thought that, if nothing else, he could at least "win" this round in terms of learning speed.

And yet... looking at the mark on the chakra-metal blade, even he couldn't find a single flaw. Besides the chakra within it being different, every other detail was identical to the original. It was as if he had carved it himself.

"There are no problems..." Defeated once again, Minato became docile. "Even I can't find a single mistake." He handed the sword back to Keisuke, sighing at his own inferiority.

Watching the Little Sun's crestfallen state, Keisuke laughed internally. He sheathed Little Jizō and got down to business. "Minato-san, have you tested the Rasengan's power?"

"That spiral... sigh. I was going to call it the Purgatory Spiral Peerless Wave Burst Cannon or something else, but now... I guess I'll just call it the Rasengan." Minato quickly composed himself. "But yes, I've tested its power, and the effect is excellent! The high-speed rotation gives the sphere incredible physical hardness, and after the outer 'shell' of chakra dissipates, the spiral flow within unleashes an astonishingly powerful shockwave. It's great for clearing away projectiles or striking an enemy."

Even the base version of the Rasengan was incredibly powerful. But Keisuke knew Minato wouldn't be satisfied with that. Even in the original timeline, after spending three years to perfect it, he had tried to infuse it with a nature transformation, but had failed.

"Minato-san, you know that the current Rasengan is just a product of shape transformation," Keisuke said, effortlessly forming one in his palm. "If you want to increase its power, the method is simple."

"Add a new nature transformation," Minato said, understanding immediately. The jutsu was strong, but not as strong as he'd hoped. It was fine against normal opponents, but against a Susanoo, a Tailed Beast, or a human-Tailed Beast like the AB Combo, it was still lacking.

"Yes, a nature transformation," Keisuke said, dispelling the Rasengan. He then warned, "But please, don't forget that the Rasengan is a close-range jutsu. Experimenting with adding a nature transformation is extremely dangerous. One small mistake, and you could injure yourself."

He was, of course, thinking of the future Rasenshuriken, which had crippled Naruto's arm.

"Don't worry, Keisuke. Although our inspirations for jutsu are surprisingly similar, I have a very deep understanding of the Rasengan," Minato said with a smile. "I will be extremely careful." He had already decided on the first nature to add: Wind. Wind counters Lightning. He was sick and tired of being unable to effectively damage the AB Combo.

The topic of the Rasengan ended there. Until it could be thrown, Keisuke had little interest in the "rolling meatball" series. He had far too many other options for close-range combat.

He then changed the subject. "Minato-san, do you know that the village is sending reinforcements to this front?"

"Yes, I've been notified," Minato nodded. "Kakashi and the others are on their way."

The next morning, Keisuke was in his tent. Retsu had just come to him with a question about her training when Shikaku rushed in.

"Clan Head—oh, Hyūga-san."

"Shikaku-san," Keisuke greeted him, then waved a hand at Retsu, who excused herself. "What is it?"

"It's like this," Shikaku said, waiting until she was gone. "The reinforcements I reported to you... the squad led by Hatake Kakashi was attacked on their way into the Land of Hot Water."

Is Madara already making his move? Keisuke stood up. "What are their casualties?"

"There are none," Shikaku shook his head, his expression strange. "They fought a hard battle, but no one was seriously injured."

"Then why the urgent report?"

"The problem isn't with Kakashi's squad. It's the identity of the attackers," Shikaku explained. "According to the report... they were a group of immortal ninjas."

Immortal ninjas? A group?

Keisuke's eyes widened. He followed Shikaku to the camp's medical area, where Minato was already waiting. He saw Team Minato. Kakashi was being treated by Rin, his upper body wrapped in bandages. Obito, for some reason, was standing to the side, looking overjoyed.

"Keisuke, Shikaku-san," Minato greeted them.

Keisuke nodded back, his gaze settling on Kakashi. He had only met the boy a few times, but it seemed like every single time, he was injured. He looked away and got straight to the point. "Where are these 'immortal ninjas' that attacked you?"

"This way." Minato led them to another section. On a white table, several human corpses were laid out.

"These are the 'immortal ninjas'?" Keisuke raised an eyebrow.

"These people... are already dead."
