Chapter 50 - Fairy 47: Bottled Feelings – Part 3

Before anyone knew it, the day of the S-Class Trails has finally come. Or more like, the day for those that are taking on the trails would depart from the Guild to the trails location.

And right now, within the Strauss household, in the living room lies Mirajane who felt slightly awkward for some reason, especially as she avoided the eyes that are looking at her.

The one looking at Mirajane with a pair of serious eyes, weren't the one that Mirajane has been avoiding lately, due to the moment of security, that she did not take kindly to heart.

No, the one who Mirajane is avoiding looking it, is no other then her little sister, Lisanna Strauss, who looked at Mirajane with folded arms, and keen eyes, seriously looking at her elder sister, not like a sister would do, but more like a mother facing her rebellious daughter.

"Are you really going straight to the guild, without even seeing him?" Lisanna asked, questioning the rebellious teenager, who sighed at her little sister's questioning tone.

"I really have no clue what you on about, Lisanna." Mirajane simply went, as if she truly has no clue what Lisanna is on about.

"Really? But I am very sure sister, you know what I mean. Ever since that day, you had been weird, and for some reason, you been avoiding him. And yet, while you avoided him, I wonder if Zack even knew, that you often sneak peeks at him, before you shake your head in denial… seriously, what are you doing?" Lisanna went with a fed up expression, which caused Mirajane to flinched at her words.

Because Lisanna is right.

While she has been avoiding Zack, but for some reason she does not understand herself, she often found herself sneaking peeks at that dumbass.

And when she realises that she has been staring at him, she quickly looks away, and reasons with herself, why she keeping a distance away from Zack for.

And that so-called reason why Mirajane kept an eye on Zack from a distance, was because the S-Class Trails is about to begin, and that needed all of her attention.

The last thing Mirajane needed, is that damned feeling of security from that dumbass, security that ironically makes her both feel both uncomfortable and insecure with herself.

(AN: Trust issues)

"Y-You are mistaken Lisanna, I wasn't sneaking peeks at that dumbass, but keeping an eye out, yes, that is right, an eye out." Mirajane went with a smirk, as she folded her arms this time.

However, no matter how one looks at this, that was a really bad excuse. To the point Lisanna has no clue to laugh or sighed at.

"Really? Keeping an eye, out, how is that any different from sneaking peeks, sister?" Lisanna asked with a deadpan expression.

"It is, that dumbass is very distracting, there is no knowing what he might do. What other reason is there?" Mirajane went.

"Really~? You think that an excuse will work,? Who are you trying to fool with that excuse? Only one who will fall for such an excuse, will either be Natsu, who is too lazy to use his brain, or Zack himself, who believes everything you say, so, who are you really trying to fool?"

From the moment Lisanna said this, with a serious tone at that. Silence overcoated the two sisters, as Mirajane did not say a word in response to what Lisanna told her.

Instead, Mirajane did what she always done, she avoided the topic altogether.

"I left the money in the usual place, and don't take any Jobs while I am away, see you when I come back, Lisanna." Mirajane simply went, as if the topic they just talking about, never happened, and picked up her camping backpack, and walked out of the house.

As for Lisanna, she opened her mouth to say something, but she was too late, seeing Mirajane had left with any further word.

"Running away wouldn't solve anything either, sister…" Lisanna only can say, sighing while covering her face with her finds, no matter what she says, or do, her older sister never listens, Lisanna really has no clue what to do with her.

All Lisanna wanted, is that Mirajane her elder sister to be more honest with herself, and her feelings.

While walking down the streets of Magnolia, Mirajane soon halted her steps, as her mind flooded with complicated emotions as she recalled the words of her little sister.

Mirajane soon shakes her head, as she tried to dispelled those unnecessary thoughts and emotions within her. The last thing Mirajane needed, is to be led astray by these emotions she cannot fully understand, especially at an important time like this.

That is why she made her way to the Guild, trying to not recall or think of anything related to Zack. Or so she thought so could.

By chance, on the way to the guild Mirajane happened to came pass a certain store, the very store she and Zack came to the other day.

Memories of that day came to Mirajane, the communication they had, the storm of emotions that made her heart quicken.

Just remembering these things, made her feel slight discomfort, causing her to not only walk away, but even quicken her pace as she walked away.

It wasn't just that store that caused a spark of memories to come to her. Even the street she is on, the public park, or other such places she went pass, caused her to remember her times with Zack there.

This caused Mirajane to realised, even if Magnolia is larger compared to normal towns, nearly on the level of a city.

What place in Magnolia had they not visited?

And why is she even recalling those times? It almost as if… she actually misses him?

"What… I am doing?" Mirajane askes herself this.

She cannot afford to let these emotions and feelings within her to sway her, especially when the upcoming S-Class Trails are right before her.

The trails that will make her into a S-Class Wizard is very important to Mirajane, because the trails themselves are something to her, that she needed to prove to herself, that she needed no one to protect her, or her siblings, who are even more important to her, than her own life.

It may seem foolish to many, silly even.

But to someone who were betrayed by those she once trusted and loved like family, how can she have allowed anyone else in her heart?

That is why, the thought of letting Zack to come close to her heart, caused her insecurity to increased, as well the discomfort that came along with these strange emotions of hers.

And just like that, as she done so many times lately, but more often compared to before, she denied those feelings, the realization that hurts her more than any blade could.

That is why, she hidden behind the wall called Majin, the persona she has created, so she could prevent anyone, even herself, to become close to anyone who's not family.

But in the end… this is no different to a cowardly little girl, who is just hiding behind the fakeness that known as the Majin.

As Mirajane steeled her resolves, and about to leave where she stood, a certain someone came before Mirajane, someone that she did not want to see, properly as much as someone else, stood right before her.

Mirajane narrowed her sea blue eyes, as she looked at the person before her, someone who rivals her so annoying in many ways.

Her beauty, her developing body, and even her strength and abilities.

Everything about them are always matched, annoying so, as if they are fated to be rivals until the very end.

Or least that how it felt to Mirajane, as she stared at the young Valkyrie with the long scarlet red hair standing right before her.

Erza Scarlet – Someone she must overcome. Someone who always comes out on top, even if they both equal in everything about themselves, an annoying existence… is what Erza is to Mirajane.

"What are you doing here? Sorry, as much I like to pound your face in, I have to go, or what is it? You are too afraid I will take this year S-Class Trails?" Mirajane mockery went.

While Mirajane has no clue why Erza is before her. It did not matter, what mattered to this rebellious teenager, that she got better things to do, besides babysitting this Valkyrie.

"I have no such intentions, nor do I see any reason to prevent you from the S-Class Trails, that is not why I am here." Erza simply went as she folded her arms, as her brown eyes looked at Mirajane.

"So, why are you here, get to the point, I don't have all day." Mirajane went, narrowing her sea blue eyes as her eyes locked with Erza's.

"I get to the point then, after you done with the trails, and returned back to Magnolia, meet me at the place we last fought seriously." Erza simply went, and about to turned around, and leave.

"Meet you there? If it is a fight you want, just say so. But what is this~? I see, is this to make your dominance when I come back, if that is truly so, I am also so itching to do the same thing." Mirajane went with a smirk, as her eyes even more narrowed, as she looked at the young Valkyrie with a serious aura around herself.

However, Erza did not seem to care about Mirajane's provoking words or expression, nor did she turned around, facing her back towards Mirajane.

"Call it what you want, discussion, or whatever it is. Just know this, if you keep doing whatever you are doing with Zack, it will only hurt him in the end, or worse, he might even move on from you, are you sure about that?"

From the moment Erza said that something snapped in Mirajane, her insecurity faded away, instead something else remain in her, something she cannot explain, a feeling she wanted to run and slashed her claws at Erza, not just out of rivalry, but in pure jealously and rage, like she going to take away something that is hers.

And yet, due to her current state of mind, she did not even realise she inwardly admitted Zack is hers. Instead, her focus is all on Erza, eyeing the young Valkyrie like a predator would do, looking at their prey.

"What you mean by that…" Mirajane askes, not in a mockery tone, but a deep seriously one, that carried a hint of rage within it.

"It is as it is, simply as that. Good look with the trails, Mirajane Strauss." Erza went, as she walked away, leaving Mirajane, who watches Erza leaved with a deadly look, before she sighs, putting her hand on her forehead, and through her snow white hair.

"Simply as that, my ass…" Mirajane went, walking towards the guild, in a fairly foul mood.
