The next morning was chaos — but the good kind.
First, there was the knock on the door that heralded the delivery. One by one, boxes began stacking up inside Dove's apartment — the bed and furniture, but also dozens of carefully wrapped suits, shirts, ties, watches, and accessories Dove had splurged on yesterday.
Krishna was like a kid in a candy store. He tore into his packages with ease, pulling out a tailored navy-blue suit, polished shoes, and a crisp white shirt.A moment later, he was transformed — every inch a rich young guy with sharp features and that mischievous glint in his eye.
Thor, on the other hand, stood there in his battered leather armor and signature red cape, looking like someone who'd wandered in from a war zone.
Dove took one look at him and groaned."You can't wear that to look at a house," he said, shaking his head."We're not going to war."
Thor grunted in protest, but Dove was already hauling him toward the pile of new clothes.
Somehow — and with considerable effort — they stuffed Thor into a brown tailored suit that just about fit his broad shoulders.Dove brushed his hands together as if admiring his work."Better," he muttered.
Then he wrestled Thor's wild hair into a neat tieback and slipped a sleek silver watch around his wrist.
Krishna chuckled."Impressive," he drawled as he adjusted his own cufflinks."You might have a second career as a stylist."
"Just making sure we don't scare the guide," Dove replied dryly as he slipped into his own white suit — sharp, clean, and tailored like it was made for him.
And then — like an afterthought — he grabbed one of the last watches from the box and handed it to Krishna as well."You too," Dove added."Let's look proper."
Krishna raised an eyebrow and smirked as he clasped it on."Very mortal of you," he teased.
"Very," Dove agreed, grinning despite himself.
Finally, they stood in the mirror together:
Krishna with his blue hair and flute tucked into his pocket, looking like a modern prince.
Thor, broad and serious in a suit that fit almost too snugly.
And Dove — white suit sharp and polished, feeling way more confident than he had any right to.
"Alright," Dove declared."Time to go mansion shopping."
When they finally arrived at the grand gates of the hilltop property, the real estate guide was waiting outside.
And as Dove's little group stepped out of the car, the guide froze — eyes going wide.
A hulking brute in a tailored brown suit, all muscle and gravity.A sharp-looking guy with blue hair and an unreadable smile. And one exhausted mortal who looked like he was just trying to survive the entire thing.
"Uh…" the guide stammered, clearly thrown off by their looks."W-Welcome. Shall we?"
And Dove, feeling very surreal, just nodded."Yes," he said smoothly."Let's see this house."
The front gates creaked open as the guide led them in, still trying not to stare at the trio walking beside him.
Thor towered like a statue of intimidation in a suit that looked two breaths away from splitting at the seams.Krishna strolled with his hands in his pockets, head tilted, gaze sweeping the mansion with amused curiosity. And Dove — dressed sharp in white — was trying to pretend he did this sort of thing every weekend.
"This property," the guide began, clearing his throat nervously,"is approximately 14,000 square feet. Eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, private gym, heated pool, soundproofed lounge, and…"He opened the grand double doors with a dramatic flair,"…a wine cellar the size of a banquet hall."
"Oh?" Thor perked up, stepping in first. His boots echoed heavily against the polished marble floor."Show me this cellar of yours," he said like a king requesting tribute.
Krishna leaned closer to Dove."Watch," he whispered."He's going to judge the entire mansion based on how deep he can stack his ale barrels."
Dove snorted."I'll consider the gym my territory, thank you."
The guide led them through the massive foyer — golden chandeliers, intricate wooden paneling, and ceilings that seemed to touch the clouds.
They passed through the dining hall, a room that could seat thirty, and into a kitchen so sleek it looked like it had never even heard of dirty dishes.
Thor immediately opened the fridge."Empty," he grunted."This must be fixed."
Dove dragged him away by the sleeve."We're here to see, not to stock it."
Next came the wine cellar.Stone walls, arched ceiling, temperature-controlled.Thor exhaled slowly, eyes almost misty."I could live here," he said softly.
Dove gave him a look."Please don't."
Upstairs, they explored the bedrooms — each styled uniquely, with glass balconies and en suite bathrooms Dove could barely comprehend.
Krishna drifted toward a window, looking out at the city below."Nice view," he murmured, fingers idly playing with his flute. He didn't say it aloud, but Dove caught the way he looked… settled. Almost nostalgic.
Dove nudged him."You like it?"
Krishna glanced at him sideways."For a mortal cage," he said, smiling, "it's… charming."
They passed the gym, where Dove actually gasped.Treadmills, weights, a small ring for sparring."Yep," he muttered."This place is officially a need."
Finally, the guide led them to the last stop — a wide balcony overlooking a private garden.
As the three of them stood there — suits crisp, wind brushing gently past — Dove had the sudden realization that he'd never stood somewhere this quiet, this peaceful, in his entire life.
He glanced sideways at the gods beside him — one watching the sky for storms, the other watching the world like it was music.
And for once, everything felt… okay.
"Shall we head back?" the guide asked. There was something in his tone — that hesitant awe again — like he wasn't sure whether he was escorting buyers or something far bigger.
"Yes," Dove replied. And for the first time in weeks, he felt like he really meant it.
