Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Signing Fee

Hans quickly printed out the lease contract, bound it together, and handed it to Maher and Gilbert.

It clearly stated the bonus and salary terms that Hans had just mentioned, as well as some other details.

Maher looked at it carefully to make sure he was not being fooled.

It's not that he doesn't trust Arsenal and Sheffield United, but mainly because he still finds it hard to believe that his identity has changed twice in one day.

From a trial player to a youth player, and from a youth player to a first-team member!

He also received a loan from a Championship team!

His hands were trembling slightly and he was surrounded by surprise and happiness.

Only a fool would not sign this contract.

Even though he is still under severe pressure to improve his strength, even though he has just decided to add training in crossing and dribbling skills.

But, there is a difference between training at Colney training base with a weekly salary of 800 pounds and training at Sheffield United, a first-team team in the Championship, with a weekly salary of 2500 pounds.

Everyone would choose it.

He did not hold out the extravagant hope of playing in the Championship League as soon as he arrived. One should not aim too high, otherwise it will only cause unhappiness.

"I'll slowly adapt to the situation and work hard to improve my skills in private."

Maher looked through the contract and made a decision in his mind: "The first goal is to be selected for the team's final roster and experience the professional arena up close."

He was not in a hurry, as the proficiency panel was his greatest confidence.

As long as he can maintain self-discipline and work hard, he will continue to improve and will get his chance sooner or later!

"Um"

Maher suddenly put his hand on his chin, and acted like a star player negotiating: "Please tell Sheffield United that I hope I can get a basic weekly salary of 4000 pounds. 2500 pounds does not meet my expectations."

Gilbert's head whipped around, his eyes wide.

Hans was stunned for a moment, then he stretched out his right hand speechlessly and pointed to the door.

"Hahahaha." The three of them laughed out loud together.

As they laughed, the smile in the depths of their eyes faded. Although they were still laughing, their minds had already wandered elsewhere.

Hans was proud that the U17 team he led had two players on loan from the Championship, and he tapped both of them on the shoulders affectionately.

Maher and Gilbert are more of a group that has fully accepted the fact that they are about to be loaned out. They are excited and looking forward to joining a professional team, but also nervous about the uncertainty.

"All right."

Hans smiled with satisfaction and got back to the point: "From the youth team to the first team, and from the first team on loan to Sheffield United, both of these 'transfers' will have a signing fee.

"The first-team bonus that comes with the youth contract is not included in this signing fee. It is your additional income and Arsenal and Sheffield will pay it immediately.

"As for the purpose, I won't say much. I just hope you can use it in the right way and buy yourself a good place to live in Sheffield."

Maher and Gilbert didn't say anything, but just stared at Hans, looking forward to the amount of the signing fee.

They are not yet qualified to negotiate terms with the club, and this is their first time doing this, so they don't understand the ins and outs of it.

So the club had to propose it and they accepted it.

"The total is fifty thousand pounds per person."

Hans held up five fingers, did a simple calculation and continued, "After paying taxes, you will have 30,000 pounds. This includes the 40,000 pounds lease fee Sheffield United paid to the club, and the 60,000 pounds added by the club."

"No need to say anything."

Gilbert suddenly stood up, as if he was afraid that Hans would go back on his word, and quickly extended his right hand: "Happy cooperation."

Maher also got up quickly, and he was almost grinning from ear to ear, "Sign it quickly."

After completing the signing, Maher and Gilbert only had half a day to pack up and prepare.

After they walked out of the administration building, they smiled at each other and walked towards their dormitories without saying much. They still had a long time to spend together in the future, so they should settle everything as soon as possible and set off tomorrow.

At night, Maher packed all his luggage and strolled through the Kearney training base, looking around the place where he had stayed for several months.

Especially after leaving the areas around the U17 training ground and the youth team gym this time, he will most likely never return to these places.

As long as people have worked hard in a place for a long time and experienced the ups and downs of life, they will definitely have feelings for that place.

Not to mention, Maher got the biggest turning point in his life here and really changed his destiny.

The reluctance to leave surged into Maher's heart at this moment.

Most of the time, leaving happily will make people feel more reluctant to leave than leaving painfully.

Because in the former case, you leave painful memories in a place, while in the latter case, it is just the opposite. You leave the most beautiful and exciting moments here.

"Leon, why did that hang so quickly?"

Maher dialed his uncle's number and chose to share his joy during the day with his family, which also diluted his reluctance at the moment. A cheerful voice came from the other end, "Is there anything else good?"

It seems that they have not yet come over the joy of their nephew earning £800 a week.

For an ordinary family that has been raising four children.

It is indeed a great thing for a child to earn enough to support himself and occasionally help his family through the sport he loves.

"is a bit."

Maher chuckled, feeling the emotions coming from the other side, his voice trembling slightly: "Sheffield United wants to rent me, and just signed the contract this afternoon.

"My weekly salary has become 2500 pounds, plus various bonuses and a hefty signing fee. I will send 3000 pounds home first, and you can buy some things for my younger sister and the family. This time, I won't be able to come back even during Christmas."

There is no winter break in the British professional league, and there is usually a 'Boxing Day' battle on Christmas Day.

January is followed by another busy month for the league, which is the most tiring month in the world.

"2500 pounds a week?! After tax, it should be 1500 pounds, based on 52 weeks a year."

Uncle's voice also became trembling, and he swallowed deeply, "Leon, don't lie to me, is all this true?"

"Mael's call?"

"Brother! Brother!"

There was a noise coming from the other end of the phone, it seemed that my aunt and younger sister were crowded next to my uncle.

"It's real, and it's not the end."

Maher took a deep breath and continued, "If I can play 10 times for Sheffield, I will get 8k a week, 20 times will be 20k."

"oh...!"

The person on the other side seemed to be about to faint. After a burst of churning voices, "Leon, supporting you in playing football is the greatest luck of my life. Uncle often feels guilty for not giving you the best conditions, but fortunately you are striving for excellence. You must keep up the good work!

"First take care of yourself, then think about family matters. I'm really grateful that you still think about us. If there's a competition, please let us know in advance!"

The aunt and younger sister over there seemed anxious and kept asking uncle what happened and why he said so much.

It was not until my uncle explained the whole story to them that my aunt suddenly seemed to go into a state of shutdown and did not speak for a long time.

Only the little sister Ava was innocent and just felt happy. She jumped up and down and laughed, "Brother is great. Brother is going to buy me a pizza!"

Maher listened to the voice on the other end and smiled knowingly, feeling extremely happy.

Giving makes him feel that he is truly living in this world.

Let's set off tomorrow!
