Chapter 12 - 012| Day One

I couldn't stop trembling now. Everyone's been suspicious about my pheromones. I make excuses like I don't want to hurt anyone, etc.

If I don't worry about I won't slip up. That's fine, I just need to get stronger. I need to shoot for the top 50 this time. That'll make them doubt their suspicions.

The tournament has started.

"Hello, we are live. I am your host, Yamada Hizashi. This is the first time broadcast of our ranking tournaments. Are you ready?" It was Hero Present Mic.

Everyone in the crowd cheered.

"We have the best students in the world going to prove if they can defend their rank in this tournament. I know you remember some of them."

"Shoto Todoroki!" They recapped on his past fights before showing his face on the big screen around the stadium, clearly seeing the icon in the corner 65.

"Katsuki Bakugo!" Previous recordings showed some Kacchan skills before panning to his face with icon the side rank 73.

"Itsuka Kendo!" She smiled, waving to the camera, her rank 89.

"And your all-time favorite... Izuku Midoryia!" I smiled, putting my fist out my rank 53.

The cheers erupted even louder than before. I smiled, waving as the camera was still panned to me. I felt the glares behind my back but didn't pay them know mind. The only reason we're shown is that we already have a small following.

"Yeahhhh, we have three games. Tumbling Towers, maze of uncertainty, and lastly The Brawl!" the present mic yelled out.

"Our judges." The table is filled with 5 well-known heroes.

Hero Midnight, Hawks, Vlad King, Mirko, and my one and only teacher, All Might.

Day 1: Tricky Towers

Tricky Towers was about going up a parkour course designed with traps and obstacles to get to the top. The twist is once we get down the elevator to the bottom floor, we must find a token and parkour our way up all 10 floors. The catch is that there are only 300 tokens and 532 participants.

I was running through the obstacles looking for a chest anywhere. There were many classmates following me. They were going to ounce on if I found a token. I ducked under the giant stone coming out of the wall. This gave a few seconds to get away before it goes back into the wall. I turn to the right, seeing a room. A token was in the hands of another student. I prepared for a fight. They got ready, too.

I smile, launching myself towards them. They used their quirk. Vines rising in the air, shooting my way. I dodged them, closing the distance fast. They clicked their tongue, making it seem they abandoned their quirk for close combat, but I saw the vibes trying to discreetly reach for my legs.

I stepped on the vine, almost getting caught, but punched my opponent in the chest. They gasped in pain, dropping the token. I reached for it, but they kicked my leg. I stumbled trying to jump for the token. We fought, but I overpowered them without a quirk, of course. I need to move up the rankings quickly. I grabbed the token, hearing people running this way. I peeked to see people down the hall. There was know time to waste. I quickly ran out of the room, making my way towards the next floor, and ran for my life.
