Upon hearing what Dr. Kai just said, Cecilia couldn't help the smile that crept across her face. A slow, dangerous curve of her lips that had nothing to do with happiness. Her eyes sparkled with something dark and twisted as she looked at him - this man who thought he could make her shake in her boots.
'Look at him,' she thought, her fingers drumming against her thigh. 'Bold and confident. Thinking I'm going to be trembling on my feet like some scared little girl.'
The audacity of it all made her want to laugh out loud. Here was Dr. Kai, puffing up his chest like some big shot, believing his threats would get under her skin. Like she was supposed to cower just because the great Dr. Kai had opened his mouth and said some scary words.
'Who the hell does he think he is?'
