In a quiet corner of Asahime City, where Ren's school was located, stood a three-storey building. It wasn't particularly eye-catching—just another average structure blending into the cityscape.
In a room on the 1st floor of the building, there was a group of people sitting at a cross table and watching a video.
The footage captured the recent battle between Ren and Reika against the entity that had possessed Haruki.
After the video was over, one of them stood up and took the lead:-
"As you've all seen, that kid was possessed by a powerful evil entity. And this might not be an isolated case—there's a high chance more are out there."
"Yes, it seems they are planning something. We need to start investigating this matter." another member of the group said, his tone calm but heavy with concern.
"Yes what you both said is correct." Another person nodded on the same.
Another voice, softer and more distant, added from the corner of the room,"If stronger evils are waking, then this city is only the beginning."
A long silence followed.
They are the Supernatural Investigation Department. They are an organization backed by the Government to navigate issues on Supernatural incidents, like the issue with Riku's school. and the people in this room are the core strong members responsible for guarding the Asahime City.
"And this Girl Reika Tachibana. She used something… strange. That wasn't standard spiritual energy. I think she used the lost mysterious power of the 4 seasons: - power of Spring" Another one.
"Spring Family? Why is she here?" the member who first spoke asked, frowning in thought.
The Spring Family is one of the mysterious Four Seasons families, said to control the power of Spring. Their existence is largely shrouded in secrecy, even there SID doesn't know much about it.
"We don't know much about them," another member admitted quietly. "They rarely interfere in public affairs. That's why Reika's appearance here… it raises more questions than answers."
The room fell silent, the weight of the unknown pressing down on them.
"But her appearance has helped in solving the issue, otherwise something bigger may have happened" Another one pondered. Although they don't know why she has appeared in this town and school, it was still helpful for them.
"Although she is part of that mysterious family, it is still acceptable, but this kid RenKuroda.... who is he?" The discussion spread towards Ren Kuroda.
The question hung heavily in the room.
"He's an enigma," another replied. "No records of him in our database. No known connections to any supernatural clans or organizations." Although he was a major help in solving the issue, but still, it is still a problem for them if they did not know his true identity. what if he were someone truly dangerous?
"We've never heard of anyone with his strength at such a young age. It's unusual—and that makes him a wildcard." They are on the same page. Their task is to continuously monitor the supernatural events like police tracking criminals and solve them if anything serious happens.
"How about we focus on monitoring Ren closely and keep tabs on Reika along the way?" the member who initiated the conversation proposed.
"Yes, it's a good idea." Others also nodded.
"But who should we send? We need someone who can get close to them without raising suspicion," another member said thoughtfully.
There was a pause for a while, and the conversation leader spoke, "How about we spend Kaito Mori?"
As soon as this name was brought up, everyone's eyes lit up.
"But he is on an assignment in the northern region, right?" one of them spoke.
"No worries, he was back yesterday. His mission was yesterday." The conversation initiator spoke.
when they heard that Kaito was back, their eyes sparked even more.
Kaito Mori is a rare field operative about the same age as Ren, trained from a young age within the Supernatural Investigation Department (SID). Recruited for his unique blend of observational talent, emotional intelligence, and subtle spiritual sensitivity, Kaito is often sent into high-risk assignments. He is one of the aces of the SID branch of Asahime city.
"Yeah! Let's assign him. he will be a good person for this mission." One of them agreed.
The conversation initiator lightly flicked his fingers. A yellow-colored light appeared on his fingers.
A shimmering screen formed in the center of the room, and a clear image appeared: a boy, about the same age as Riku, walking calmly down a quiet street, his expression unreadable.
"Kaito," The Conversation initiator called, voice firm but relaxed. "Good job on the Northern Region assignment."
"Thank! You Sir!!" 'Katio' replied lightly.
"you have another Assignment which you need to start immediately." The Conversation initiator spoke.
"What is it about?" 'Kaito'
The Conversation initiator once again flicked his fingers. two photos appeared in the hand of Kaito.
"You'll begin attending Shirakawa High School starting tomorrow," the conversation initiator said, his tone calm but authoritative.
Kaito stood motionless on the projection feed, listening carefully.
"There, your primary target is Ren Kuroda. Observe him closely—his origin and abilities are unknown, but his involvement in the recent possession case is no coincidence."
The man's eyes narrowed.
"Reika Tachibana will also be on your radar, though you are not to engage directly unless necessary. Her ties to the Spring Family complicate things."
Kaito gave a small nod. "Understood."
"Let's wait and see what we get..." the conversation initiator closed his conversation with other members of SID and they vanished from there as if they were not there at all.
"Ren Kuroda... Interesting.. let's see what you have got..." 'Kaito' Licked his lips.
What Kaito and other Members of the SID does not know at this point is that this mission will become something that they had far not imagined. and This will also affect Reika and Ren greatly.

Parallel to this, Ren oblivious to this, was eating his lunch at his usual place devoid of other students, when two familiar students appeared in his field of vision.
