Kai woke up in a bed and felt pain in his arm, realizing it was broken. He looked around and saw that the others were also in bed. He sighed in relief and bit his lip in frustration.
"What happened?"
In front of him, Virelle spoke with a serious look. Kai trembled under that gaze but began to explain everything that had happened.
"That's not what I was told."
"What?"
She waited for all the students to wake up before starting to speak, and after thirty minutes, everyone was listening as she explained that the ones who started the fight were Class A. The orc beside them shouted that it was a lie, but Virelle explained that a teacher had seen everything, which unsettled them.
"That's a lie, professor."
"The teacher himself came to talk to me."
Serenya, beside them, became slightly desperate and placed both hands on her head. If they were being accused, it could end up harming all of Class A, and they might be suspended from classes, which would hinder their progress. Valença, on the other hand, spoke to Virelle in a pleading tone.
"Professor, you have to believe us."
"I do believe you."
The students sighed in relief. Virelle didn't know the orc and the elf well, but the three had been with her since the academy started, and their personalities didn't align with such actions. So that teacher who spoke to her must be protecting someone.
"Well, you were unconscious all day... stay here and recover."
Virelle left the room. Serenya, who tried to get up, noticed her ribs were broken and lay back down carefully. Kai seemed like he was going to get up but was interrupted by sounds from the door, and Liam, Elian, Caelan, Silvia, and Seraphina entered carefully after the teacher had left. They began talking with Serenya, explaining everything Elowyn and her subordinates had done to them.
"Those bastards, if I find them, I'm going to beat them up."
"Sorry, Caelan, but I don't think you can."
With Elian's comment, Caelan lowered his head in agreement. Seraphina, who was beside them, trembled upon hearing Elowyn's name and hugged herself, her face slightly sweaty. Serenya looked at her.
"Seraphina, what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
Seraphina stood up, took a deep breath, and left. Enrico had asked them to help her, but when Serenya, Elian, and Caelan tried to speak to her, she refused the help. Serenya didn't feel angry, especially since what she did that day hurt her. So she simply decided to stay away to avoid making Seraphina uncomfortable.
'Well, at least she's accepting help from Kai and Valença.'
Serenya sighed and noticed Silvia getting closer.
"So you fought with the princess? I have notes on all the students in Class S. Want to see who they are?"
Kai immediately turned his head toward Silvia and nodded quickly, eager to know who they were and get his rematch—especially with Elowyn and the black-haired boy.
"Then let me see."
She pulled a small notebook from her pocket, and everyone wondered if she carried it everywhere. She began asking for descriptions of the four of Elowyn's subordinates.
"All right, the first is Narisse Ferayra, Rank 18."
The girl with curly hair had poison magic. She was from the city of Sanos and from a noble family that were loyal followers of the royal family of Sanos. Apparently, like her family, she is extremely loyal to whoever is next in line for the throne—Elowyn. Narisse had no doubts in following her.
The second was the blue-haired girl Velka Doremund, Rank 17, also from a noble family of Sanos and seemed to admire Elowyn.
The third was Grark Chifre, Rank 16, the orc warrior from the Red Tribe. He had two types of magic—one of earth and the other called "impact magic." He appeared to follow Elowyn after being defeated by her.
The last subordinate, and also the most recently recruited, was Deymon Slarsk, Rank 15. After being defeated by Elowyn, he held a certain resentment toward her. He was quite annoying to deal with. He had a type of magic called corruption, with three known spells so far: one that causes damage to a person's physical body that takes a week to heal, another that corrupts objects and weakens them, and a third that is still unknown since he awakened it recently after his defeat.
Upon hearing this explanation, Kai placed a hand on his stomach, still feeling the pain that hadn't stopped since he woke up, and clenched his other hand into a fist. Serenya shifted uncomfortably, thinking she'd win next time, and Valença seemed to ponder:
'If it were Enrico, what would he do to defeat those magics?'
Silvia looked at everyone and could tell they all wanted a rematch—the orc too, who had heard everything. All of them, except the elf who was lying down. She opened the notebook to Elowyn's page.
"I guess the next to be revealed should be me, right?"
The voice came from the doorway. It was Elowyn, leaning against the frame with the four others outside the room. Immediately, they got into a defensive stance, with Elian, Caelan, Liam, and Silvia standing in front. Valença, holding her staff while lying beside it, spoke.
"What are you doing here? You're not thinking of fighting, are you? There are nine of us, so even if you're stronger, we outnumber you…"
Elowyn smiled, and Lan, with a dark grin, appeared behind her with his two subordinates. Kai stood up with his sword in hand.
"Bastard, I told you to stay with us without hurting you."
Kai knew Enrico had told him to instill fear in Lan, but he had tried to explain calmly, and now he regretted that decision.
All of them were pinned to the ground by some unknown magic that didn't seem to belong to a student. Then Elowyn and her goons began to approach.
"I told you I would do this every day until you swore loyalty to me… so let's begin again."
They tried to move but felt completely paralyzed. Still, they were sure of one thing—this magic didn't belong to anyone in the room. Elowyn and her subordinates drew closer, and outside the room, behind the wall, a Class S teacher was leaning silently.
