Chapter 206 - The rivals of the three

Kai woke up with an excited smile on his face, brushed his teeth, took a bath, and put on the academy uniform.

"Why are you so excited, Kai?"

"Today I'm going to challenge and show my new level to Enrico, there's no way he'll refuse after seeing my new power."

Kai was talking with his fairy who had made a contract in the aquatic dungeon, ever since he returned she had been increasing her affinity with him and he already felt his magic improving whenever she used their combinations.

"Surely Enrico will be excited to fight me."

"Your excitement makes me happy, Kai, I hope at least this time you can give Mr. Enrico some fun."

"You have quite a lot of respect for him even though you've only known him for a short time."

For some reason, she had a respect that he didn't understand, even though he himself respected Enrico much more than her. Kai had asked several times why, but she preferred to stay quiet.

"That doesn't matter, especially since you have to hurry and fight him."

"You're right."

Seeing her contractor run off she sighed, because she knew Enrico was Kael since she could see the essence of everyone with water magic and that's why she respected him.

'He's the first human I've seen to have an affinity with both fire and water magic, two completely different magics.'

While running Kai saw Valença and Camila in front of two low-rank students, in front of them were three students but with a different academy uniform, two boys—one with black hair, the other blue—and a girl with red hair.

"What's happening?"

"Great, another idiot showed up."

Lifting one of the students he saw that one of his eyes was bleeding from some blow, looking seriously at them Kai narrowed his eyes while grabbing the sword at his waist.

"Why did you do this?"

"By your rank you must be from class S so you should understand that we're just educating people who don't know their place."

"You were just bothering weak people."

Valença pointed her staff at the face of the black-haired boy who was speaking, his face was arrogant as he looked at that staff like a child's toy.

"You should take that out of my face before I destroy that toy of yours."

"As if you could do that."

The girl beside him seemed irritated, raising her hand she grabbed Valença's staff tightly, a blue-colored magic surrounding her hand.

"You seem strong but don't be mistaken, we're the three best students of Vesparello while you're not even in the top ten of class S."

"Really? Sorry to tell you this as the truth even if for me it is true… I may not be in the top ten but I'm sure I can handle a student from an academy that isn't even among the top three."

"You—"

The two began to stare at each other with deadly looks, while the black-haired boy tried to approach the boys he had beaten.

"Come on, why fight if we're the elite and the elite should be above boys who think they can have an equal conversation."

Standing in front of him Kai drew his sword pointing it at his neck, the two ended up getting serious, it seemed that the two of them couldn't have a civilized conversation and to be honest Kai had learned from Enrico that there was only one way for this kind of human to listen.

"I totally disagree with your statement and to be honest I think it's crap."

"What an audacious boy."

Feeling a blade on his back Kai moved his eyes coldly, seeing the boy with very light blue hair with an arrogant smile.

"I'd say the audacious ones here are you."

Surprised, the blue-haired boy saw two blades that seemed to be made of ashes pointing at his neck, Camila was with one hand raised with ashes around her.

"You visit our academy and treat our companions like this? To me you're just rats that will hide as soon as someone bigger appears."

"What did you say?"

"Looks like you're deaf so I'll repeat, you're just rats that will hide as soon as someone bigger appears."

The atmosphere between those three was heavy and none of them seemed willing to back down, Kai, fed up with them looking as if they were stronger, decided to lower his sword and offer something.

"How about we settle this in the arena? I'd like to show it to you."

"What arrogance… very well I accept this challenge especially since my hand is itching to educate an arrogant brat like you."

"I want to see you say that when you're on the ground."

Turning around Kai and Camila helped the two students walk while being accompanied both by Valença and those three students.

"Why not let those two go alone? If we keep this up it'll take a long time to arrive and besides they're mages so they should be able to endure that kind of damage."

"Can you shut up? If you don't want to come with me go ahead and wait for me."

"My desire to educate you only increases."

Leaving the two with the healers, Kai, Valença, and Camila received thanks from them, smiling the three returned outside the room.

"Let's go."

"Right behind you."

The more time passed the heavier the atmosphere around them became, and right behind them Enrico followed from a distance while eating popcorn with an amused smile.

[Why that smile? You're not happy to see your friends being defeated, are you?]

'No, it's just that I'm surprised to see their levels personally… and I have to say this is going to be more disputed than I thought.'

Having quite a bit of fun, Enrico started following them from farther away, he was going to enjoy watching these fights especially to see the surprise of the arrogant students.
