Chapter 453 - Prodigy vs Half-Prodigy Part 2

This elf didn't seem to have healing magic, so not stopping the bleeding for two minutes increased Kai's chances of winning. He had only managed to keep this fight going for so long because of his speed-enhancing ability.

'And I'm going to increase it even more.'

Using his ocean magic to enhance his abilities, Kai increased his speed even further and managed to reach Volhit from behind. Without a doubt, with that speed he had surpassed the elf, even so he was still a Circle Seven. Volhit jumped back, managing to dodge the blow.

'His perception is above mine.'

"Hero's Aura."

Kai's muscles were strengthened by hero magic to increase his capabilities even more. This time he managed to surpass the elf slightly. Switching positions with several images created by the light of his movements, he had to take maximum advantage of these two minutes while Volhit would weaken.

"Cutting magic cube…"

When Kai approached the elf he was surrounded by a cube of cuts coming from all directions. If he did not dodge that attack he would undoubtedly be killed. Using his hero magic his sword was enveloped by a blue aura. Going forward with everything he had he used his Circle Seven speed, the magical ability to cut magic even if it was weak against stronger people and lastly began to use his moon techniques.

"Crescent Cut."

Making a forward slash while propelling himself forward he managed to pass through that rain of cuts with everything he could do. His body was bleeding heavily so placing his hand on his chest he healed the open wounds with his ocean magic.

"Huff… huff."

Compared to other fights, in this one he was getting tired faster and faster. That was because without a doubt he was using mana at an extreme rate at every moment. Currently he was using three spells to improve his speed.

'I managed to surpass his speed, even so I still can't find many openings.'

Several cuts more powerful than the previous ones were launched from Volhit's sword when he swung it forward with force. With difficulty Kai retreated and moved as much as possible to the left letting the attack pass across the wall. When he stepped on the edge of the wall Volhit was already there having anticipated his movement.

"It seems you didn't heal yourself completely to stop the bleeding. What happened were you saving mana?"

The elf's sword cut his opponent who turned out to be a residual image. Kai had used a small mana burst for a short impulse. With surprise Volhit felt a cut being made on his back apparently from a large blade.

"Aura Explosion."

A trail of blood appeared on his back and immediately after an explosion that threw Kai down from the wall. As he fell he used his magic on his feet to stop the fall. He stood as if he were on the ground, his magic was used so perfectly that the elf above was slightly surprised while holding his cut back.

'He didn't use affinity? Seeing the way he used it.'

Stepping on the air he let himself fall toward Kai. His blade clashed with the boy's and of course the one who won the clash of strength was him who began pushing his opponent back. With difficulty Kai spun while being pushed backward which made Volhit continue moving forward but to Kai's surprise his opponent stopped his movement using magic on his feet the same way he did.

"As long as it's not magic with affinities I can use them as well."

'This is bad.'

Apparently his opponent was very good at learning things that didn't involve affinities and that was a disastrous kind of opponent. The only good thing happening was that even tired he felt he was getting stronger over time, that was because his unique ability evolution was active.

'My sword is also getting stronger.'

The blade now completely blue shone intensely. His opponent also seemed to be a prodigy, not at his level who together with Enrico and Victoria was called an aberration, but perhaps only three steps below.

'I noticed he wanted to finish me quickly because of the bleeding, but now he seems calmer.'

He understood why his opponent was calm. He had abandoned any tactic of finishing him quickly the way he was trying before to focus on analyzing a way to finish him, because the way things were happening before Volhit wasn't managing to hit Kai as much as he wanted.

'He still has one minute and twenty seconds of bleeding left, but he must have already lost a lot of blood.'

His opponent was still bleeding and there was still time before Turk's bite effect ended so he was weakening because the amount of blood flowing from the wound was the greatest among all the wounds he had received so far.

"Shield magic multiple mana shields."

With the words spoken by Volhit six mana shields closed around Kai in a cube-shaped prison with no way to escape except destroying it with raw power, which would be difficult at his current level.

'This is very bad he's about to launch a powerful attack.'

Kai was right. Volhit had made that move to trap him in place and he had to get out of there before that happened. Outside the cube the elf raised his blade holding it firmly. He had to be fast in that fight not only because of the wound. The queen he served was also fighting and it didn't matter if she was cruel because she was the only one who gave him the chance to be a knight.

'From now on you will be my personal knight Volhit.'

"Yes I must be quick to fight as a knight should fight beside his queen."

His eyes shone white while a large amount of pure magic came from his blade. There was no way for his enemy to escape that prison before him so he would use his best magic.

"Cutting magic and shield magic…"

The entire wall began to tremble nonstop around him. The sword assumed a heavier form, large and at the same time sharp. Using shield magic to strengthen the sword and cutting magic. The two manas in his mana heart clashed merging into a combined magic between two spells that in a way were opposites.

"Heavy Cut."

It was a simple name without a doubt but the power was unquestionable. With a descending strike everything in front of him was cut in a straight and perfect line without leaving any irregularity. Even the mana shields in front of him had disappeared after being destroyed by the cut because it was not simply a thin slash. It was wide, you could not even see how far it went across the wall as they were still standing on it.

"Now I want to see how you escaped that attack."

"It was difficult but…"

Suddenly Volhit felt something pierce his thigh. Looking down he saw Kai bleeding heavily and with one of his hands destroyed. A large amount of blood ran from his body while blood streamed down his face. Somehow he had taken that attack head on because there was no way to dodge it.

"So I had to abandon my speed and focus all the magic I had on healing."

Kai abandoned his speed enhancement to combine his light healing magic with ocean healing magic. He combined the two and did the same thing by focusing only on one point then used hero magic to increase only his resistance. Of course he could not use any other magic besides those. But it was enough for him to keep regenerating constantly to not die which gave him the resistance of a Circle Seven for that brief moment. More than half of his mana was spent on that and he almost died when he was smashed into the wall.

"It was horrible… huff… but at least I survived."

He did not use that tactic to launch a Circle Seven attack because he knew he would lose in a pure power clash between the two. Volhit had his thigh cut from the middle to the side by Kai's sword which evolved while facing the difficulty of enduring that attack. With an irritated face he looked at Kai.

"Bastard, how?"

"I simply thought that a friend of mine would think that way to survive."

With a tired smile he remembered Enrico. The one who for him was his rival and the one he most wanted to face, so he would not die in that place.
