JESSIE
It's like the middle of the night. Everyone's gone home, the customers and the staff. It's just me and Sebby this time. We're both still drinking, but Sebby is also looking at his log book. I smile at him because this is what he's always wanted to do. Run this place, seeing him do this is so surreal because I remember how back when we were kids he couldn't shut up about running this place.
"God, when did we grow up?" I ask him and he looks at me with a smile on his face.
"We're adults, when did that happen?" he says hands on the table as he stares at me.
"Nostalgia is truly a mind's trick because I actually miss being a kid even though I had a bad experience being one."
"Maybe you're only thinking about the happy times." he says and I know he knows damn well that those happy times where the times I spent with him, those times where after my dad beats me up causing me to have a black eye he would try to get my mind off things and we'd go on little adventures.
