Chapter 1 - first kiss

A mountain stood tall under the evening sky.

A young boy, just 11 years old, walked toward it with a net full of fish in his hands.

"I finally caught so many fish today," he said with a smile. "Can't wait to go home and cook them all."

But just then, something caught his eye — a soft glow behind a tree a little far away.

Curious, the boy ran toward it.

There, behind the tree, he saw a girl. She looked about his age.

Only the upper half of her body was visible.

Suddenly, he heard a growling sound from her stomach.

"...You're hungry?" the boy asked.

He looked down at his catch. "I have some fish with me. Let's cook them together."

Before he could say more, the girl grabbed three raw fish from his net and started eating them — just like that.

She looked satisfied and smiled brightly.

The boy was shocked.

"Wait... those were raw! And you didn't even chew them properly!"

The girl stared at his face with a blank look. Then, out of nowhere, she opened her mouth slightly, blushed, leaned in…

and gently kissed his cheek.

Then she stepped back and started chanting softly:

> "Gakhuyi... Gakhuyi... Gakhuyi..."

"What the hell? Are you crazy?" the boy shouted, confused and red-faced.

But the girl just kept smiling at him — like she was happy for the first time.

Then suddenly, a massive stone crashed from above.

The boy instinctively reached out his hand toward the girl —

And the girl looked back one last time.

The two were thrown apart — saved from the impact, but separated by fate.

Years passed.

The boy was no longer a boy. He had grown.

He stepped down from a bus, now standing once again near that same mountain.

"I don't know if it was real… or just a dream," he whispered. "But I remember… I did see a girl on this mountain."

He touched his cheek and his palm.

"This burn… where she kissed me… it still hurts."

He closed his eyes.

> "I didn't feel anything back then.

But now, every time I touch this scar... it hurts.

And yet... it feels good."

A recent news report was playing everywhere:

> "This mountain is believed to be home to unknown mythological creatures. No one who has seen them has ever come back."

Suddenly, a voice broke his thoughts.

"Hey, you joining us?"

He turned. A group of explorers stood nearby.

He greeted everyone with a polite "Hello."

He looked at one of the girls and asked, "Why are you hiding your hands?"

She had a jacket on, sleeves covering her arms.

The girl didn't answer. She simply looked away.

No one really talked much. The team finished preparations.

One of the crew members shouted, "Let's move!"

Everyone started boarding the train that would take them near the mountain base.

The boy sat by the window, silent.

> "These people... they're all excited to find mythical creatures, legends, or just have fun.

But me... I'm going back for a girl.

I don't even know why.

I just… have to see her again."

The train moved closer to the unknown.

And the mountain… waited.
