Chapter 48 - Chapter 48

Onigashima.

Inside Udon Prison, a large number of people were gathered here—the Tobiroppo, the Disasters and even the Emperor of the Sea, Kaido himself!

Kaido sat at the head of the table, taking a hearty swig of liquor.

His gaze turned to the center, where the counterfeit Seraphim were wreaking havoc.

Despite the sheer numbers of the Beast Pirates, they were being utterly crushed under the might of these knockoff Seraphim.

It was a complete massacre!

"Hahaha! Not bad, not bad! Their strength is truly impressive!"

Watching the counterfeit Seraphim effortlessly overpower his subordinates, Kaido grinned in satisfaction.

He then glanced around at the numerous counterfeit Seraphim—there were easily over a hundred of them.

"With so many counterfeit Seraphim at our disposal, we won't have to fear the Marines for a while." Kaido roared with laughter, his voice booming with arrogance.

"They have their Seraphim—well, we have ours too!!"

In truth, when it came to the Seraphim, the Marines undeniably outnumbered and outmatched the Beast Pirates.

But who said the Marines only had the Beast Pirates as their enemies?

Their enemies were far more numerous than just Beast Pirates.

Thus, Kaido was certain that the Marines would never deploy all their Seraphim in one place…

Just as he was thinking this—Suddenly.

A blinding light erupted above them.

Everyone looked up in shock.

Countless terrifying streams of molten lava came crashing down from the sky!

"What?!"

"W-What's happening?! Why is there lava falling from the sky?!"

"Damn it! Run!!"

The crowd scattered in panic.

Kaido and the Disasters swiftly intervened, shattering the incoming magma with their attacks.

"Something's wrong—search the area!" Kaido voice was grim as he led his men toward the source of the lava eruption.

Soon enough, Kaido spotted a group of high-ranking Marines.

"Sengoku?! Garp?! And the three Admirals?!" Kaido's expression darkened instantly.

His heart sank like a stone.

Alone, he stood no chance against the entire Marine force!

Narrowing his eyes, Kaido immediately noticed the strange pink door behind them.

Through the door, he could faintly make out the scene of Marineford.

Kaido froze, his shock deepening.

"What the hell is that?!"

In his daze, his gaze landed on the eight-year-old child being shielded and protected in the midst of the Marines…

'That's Leon!' Realization struck him like lightning, 'It must be his doing again!!'

"He's invented something new for the Marines…" He pieced it together instantly, but then noticed something even more baffling.

This group of Marine elites had arrived without their massive army.

After all, the reason the Marines were the strongest force at sea wasn't just their top-tier fighters—it was also their overwhelming numbers, far surpassing any other faction.

Seeing this, Kaido's expression shifted several times before he finally gritted his teeth.

"Go! Send all the Seraphim at them!!"

At his command, all the counterfeit Seraphim in the distance surged forward.

"Since you've come knocking, you might as well stay!!" Kaido's face twisted into a savage grin as he barked out orders.

"Marines! I'll make sure none of you leave alive!!"

Though his enemies were terrifyingly strong, he now had an army of counterfeit Seraphim at his disposal.

Against these few, he could simply overwhelm them with sheer numbers—grinding them down through relentless combat…

Perhaps we really can wipe out all the Marines top brass in one fell swoop!!

After all, every high-ranking Marine officer is already here and they haven't brought any soldiers with them.

This is truly a golden opportunity!

Though it's unclear why the Marine's top brass would gather here without any troops.

But how could Kaido possibly let such a perfect chance slip away?

Immediately. Seraphim came rushing in from all directions.

"Attack them all! Only leave that brat Leon alive!!" Kaido gave the order while hoisting his kanabo, Ready to strike at any moment!

Garp was casually picking his nose.

As if completely indifferent to everything happening before him.

Kuzan and Tsuru wore expressions of utter calm and composure.

Kizaru, on the other hand, pursed his lips and spoke slowly as he observed the situation.

"So many knockoff Seraphim? How terrifying~"

"Hmph, all trash!" Akainu sneered, casting a disdainful glance at Kaido.

Even Sengoku merely gave him a cold look.

Without saying a word, he turned and stepped through the pink door.

Garp, Tsuru, and Leon followed closely behind.

The three Admirals then leisurely entered as well.

Once they had all passed through, the pink door instantly vanished without a trace.

Along with Sengoku and the others, the entire group of Marine elites had completely disappeared—their presence utterly erased.

"Huh?!" Kaido's eyes bulged in shock as he stared at the now-empty battlefield.

"They're gone… Is this some kind of Devil Fruit power?"

At this moment, no matter how much Kaido expanded his Observation Haki, he couldn't detect even a trace of Sengoku or the others.

This left Kaido deeply shaken.

Meanwhile, the Seraphim, having only just received Kaido's orders, arrived at the scene.

They now stood around in confusion, scanning their surroundings.

But the enemies were nowhere to be found.

"Governor!" Just then, King and Queen arrived along with numerous Tobiroppo and a large contingent of the Beasts Pirates.

"Kaido-san, where's the Marines?" King couldn't help but ask as he surveyed the deserted battlefield.

Kaido wore the same bewildered expression.

He snorted coldly. "Probably ran away… through some weird door…" Such a perfect opportunity, yet the Marine's top brass had all escaped in the blink of an eye.

This left Kaido thoroughly displeased.

"A door?" King was stunned. "What door?"

"Just a pink one. They stepped through it, and then both they and the door vanished." Kaido explained.

"Now there's not a single trace of them left in the area."

Hearing this, King's face twisted in disbelief.

Behind him, the Tobiroppo and countless Beasts Pirates members exchanged puzzled glances.

All of them were utterly baffled.

"Could it be some kind of Devil Fruit ability?" Queen ventured cautiously. "Logically speaking, such a bizarre method should be a Devil Fruit power…"

Kaido shook his head.

The powers of Devil Fruits across the seas are endlessly varied.

Even Kaido didn't believe he could recognize them all.

It wouldn't be strange for some odd new ability to appear.

But…

"Yet when I tried to disrupt it with Haki, it didn't stop them…" Kaido added. "And for some reason, that brat Leon was with them this time."

"So… could it be some kind of scientific technology?" Having said this, Kaido turned to Queen—the crew's scientist.

"Scientific technology? Unlikely…" Quinn shook his head. "This involves advanced science like space folding or space jumps!"

If it were a Devil Fruit ability, Haki could suppress or counter it, but technology was different.

If it was truly technology—something that allowed spatial traversal through a single door—wouldn't that make it invincible?

Just as they were speaking, one of his subordinates suddenly cried out in alarm.

"Th-The Marine is over there!!"
