Although Jimmy's left eye had transformed into a serpent-like pupil, what concerned him the most was how much his physical capabilities had increased!
Before he could celebrate, a terrifying hunger gnawed at his stomach. Gritting his teeth, Jimmy lifted his head and looked at the dead snakes scattered across the cabin floor. To his surprise, the sight was incredibly tempting.
"Roar!" Jimmy growled lowly and dashed into the cabin.
Soon after, Jimmy stumbled out of the cabin with blood all over his mouth, letting out a satisfied burp. Suddenly, he froze, bent over the side of the ship, and started dry heaving. He had just eaten the dead snakes raw! The thought alone made him feel nauseous!
Leaning over the side of the ship, Jimmy noticed a red, fish-like shape swimming past. He was momentarily stunned as he realized there were fish in the water! What struck him as odd was that with his right eye, everything looked normal, but with his left eye, everything had a surreal tint of various colors.
Wiping his mouth casually, Jimmy continued observing with his left eye and realized that he could see many things that his right eye couldn't detect!
As he kept looking around, Jimmy suddenly spotted a massive red shape approaching the boat. He blinked in disbelief and ran back into the cabin, his face one of sheer shock.
Observing through his left eye, Jimmy saw the massive serpentine creature swimming near the side of the boat. Then, he heard sharp, high-pitched screeches—piercing but as if calling out for something. Jimmy immediately thought of the two-meter-long giant python he had killed earlier!
The snake he had eaten was nothing compared to the one outside the boat. This one was at least ten meters long! Oh my god!
Jimmy's legs nearly gave out beneath him! All he could do was hope that the giant snake wouldn't come inside the boat. But suddenly, his phone beeped, and Jimmy's face changed. If he wasn't mistaken, that was his phone!
The super giant python outside the boat had also heard the strange sound and began slowly making its way toward the boat. Jimmy's heart screamed in alarm! Still, he ran down to the boat's storage area as quickly as he could.
Although it was dark in the boat's hold, at least Jimmy didn't have to be so scared. He pulled out his revolver and aimed at the entrance.
He waited for a while, but there was no movement. However, Jimmy didn't dare to relax! After all, he was up against a giant python over ten meters long!
"Creak!" A sharp, ear-piercing noise echoed, and Jimmy felt the floorboard beneath him shake. The giant python's head suddenly emerged from behind the floorboard!
Jimmy quickly jumped up and realized the floorboard had already been pierced by the massive snake! His body shook as he raised his hand, but at that moment, a tail swept in from the entrance of the cabin. The revolver was knocked from his hand, and Jimmy was forced to stumble backward.
With a crash, Jimmy slammed into an iron box. "Creak!" Another sharp sound rang out as the giant snake attempted to crawl through the pierced wood. Jimmy immediately tried to lift the iron box but couldn't move it. He pushed with all his strength.
The snake, irritated by Jimmy's obstruction, snapped its head violently, flinging the iron box against the wooden floor. The items inside the box flew out in all directions.
Jimmy's sharp eyes spotted a gun among the scattered contents!
Without thinking, he quickly grabbed the gun. At that moment, the massive python emerged fully, roaring and snapping its mouth toward Jimmy!
Jimmy wasn't sure if the gun had any bullets, but he rolled away to dodge the python's strike. However, the snake was quick and immediately turned to bite him again. In a panic, Jimmy raised the gun and pulled the trigger, but there was no response.
Frustrated, Jimmy threw the gun at the snake. It hit the giant python in the eye, causing the snake to roar in fury, shaking its head. Jimmy seized this moment and rushed toward the exit.
However, the giant snake quickly regained its focus and lunged at Jimmy. That's when Jimmy spotted a knife in front of him. Without hesitation, he grabbed it and swung it behind him, hitting the snake, but it barely seemed to affect the creature, only enraging it further.
With a furious roar, the python lunged, wrapping itself around Jimmy. With no choice, Jimmy began rolling on the floor to break free.
Soon, Jimmy saw the silver revolver in a corner. He hurriedly grabbed it, but when he looked up, the massive snake was gone! Startled, Jimmy remained on high alert.
"Beep, beep, beep!" His Nokia phone began ringing again. Jimmy ignored it at first, but the phone continued ringing until he couldn't take it anymore and pulled it out.
The first message read: "Our deepest apologies. To compensate for the previous rash actions, the giant python will emerge at night to hunt." Jimmy furrowed his brow as he thought for a moment. It seemed that the "Saint" understood that, given his current state, he would have no chance against the giant python, so he was given some time to prepare, offering a slim hope of survival!
The earlier message about the "rash actions" was now clear. Jimmy flipped through a previous message, "Side Quest: Hunt the Giant Python. Success rewards: 500 points. Failure penalty: None."
It was this message that had nearly gotten Jimmy killed!
With six hours left before nightfall, Jimmy shook his head and began searching the dimly lit storage area of the boat. Soon, he found the shotgun and checked—there were no bullets inside. Jimmy quickly ran over to the iron box and started rummaging through it.
Inside, he found a crossbow, a large net, a box, and two quivers of bolts. Jimmy opened the box and discovered twelve bullets, a few syringes, and a bottle of liquid. If he wasn't mistaken, the liquid was a tranquilizer!
Sighing in relief, Jimmy figured that surviving the week-long task meant using these items to stay alive!
With the items in hand, Jimmy left the storage cabin and began setting traps. He placed heavy objects into the net and tied the net to a mast at the back of the boat.
He then began loading the bullets and preparing the crossbow. To be honest, he had no confidence. After all, the terrifying strength of the giant python had left him deeply shaken. The traps he set were nothing more than rudimentary at best, but he had no experience in trap-making!
Now, with no other choice, Jimmy was preparing for a do-or-die situation. At the bow of the boat, he found an oil tank. It took him an hour, but he managed to extract ten kilograms of fuel!
Next, he started looking for flammable materials to place on the boat.
When everything was set up, Jimmy began searching for food. His hunger was becoming unbearable! He chopped a bamboo pole, sharpened its tip, and started watching the water for movement. With the help of his left eye, Jimmy only needed to spot a red, fish-like shape in the water before swiftly plunging the bamboo into the river.
After several attempts, Jimmy finally got the hang of it and caught several fish. He took a piece of fish meat, sniffed it, and was surprised to find that he didn't feel repulsed by it! He bit into it and quickly swallowed it down.
"Looks like it's not just my stomach that's changed, my sense of taste is different too!" Jimmy shook his head.
Suddenly, he froze. He remembered his fusion ability! He wondered if he could fuse with the fish!
Without hesitation, he grabbed one of the fish and silently thought, "Fusion." Instantly, the fish turned into a mass of blood and merged into Jimmy's hand.
Pain shot through his body! But the pain subsided after three seconds, unlike when he had fused with the giant python, where the pain had lasted a full minute.
Gasping for air, Jimmy quickly checked his attributes on his phone.
