Chapter 158 - Chapter 158: The Strength of Kinkaku and Ginkaku

"As for the Amber Purifying Pot—if the person responds after their name is called, they'll be sealed inside. So as long as you don't reply or make a sound, you'll be safe."

"Lastly, the Banana Palm Fan..." Renya looked at the group who had fallen into contemplation and continued, "The wielder can unleash ninjutsu with all five nature transformations at the cost of a massive amount of chakra."

In his opinion, the Banana Palm Fan was the most difficult weapon to counter.

Not only could it serve as a long-range attack tool for both of them, but it also completely ignored the user's chakra nature, allowing them to unleash ninjutsu of all five elements.

Even more absurd, it didn't require any hand seals—just a single swing could create a superstorm imbued with five chakra natures!

With this weapon, the fear of being countered by elemental weaknesses vanished entirely.

They could even strike back against enemies using the same element.

The reason Kinkaku and Ginkaku didn't bother with normal ninjutsu was probably because the Banana Palm Fan was simply too useful.

Its only drawback was the massive chakra consumption—but that just happened to be something the two brothers had in abundance...

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Tenten used the Six Paths tools only for a short while before completely exhausting her chakra.

But the two brothers used them at will, which proved just how vast their chakra reserves were.

The chakra the Banana Palm Fan consumed was negligible for them, allowing for extended battles.

The only way to deal with it was to rely on defensive ninjutsu or dodge with speed, then seize an opening between attacks to counter.

Compared to the other tools, the Banana Palm Fan's weakness wasn't too glaring.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, the unit led by Darui, along with Konoha's Ino-Shika-Chō trio, learned of the Six Paths tools' weaknesses and used teamwork to successfully seal Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

That alone showed how critical intel was for dealing with their attacks.

That's the way the ninja world works—if you understand the enemy's abilities, you won't be caught off guard by strange and deadly techniques...

With intel in hand, you can make preparations in advance.

Most likely, Senju Tobirama didn't know the details of the Six Paths tools, and combined with being surrounded by dozens of elite jōnin, he ultimately met his end in the northwest.

Had he known the intel beforehand, perhaps he wouldn't have died.

With Flying Thunder God and his other powerful forbidden jutsu, he might've been able to reverse the situation and kill them instead.

...

Renya actually didn't want to bring this up, since the source of the information was difficult to explain.

How would he know something that only the upper ranks of Kumogakure were aware of?

But to kill Kinkaku and Ginkaku, he had no other choice.

Without intel, defeating them was practically impossible...

After all, the two brothers wielded five of the Six Paths tools and also possessed the Nine-Tails Chakra Cloak—their strength firmly at the Kage level.

Even with the intel, Renya didn't have full confidence in taking them down.

Before revealing the intel on the Six Paths tools, he had already prepared an explanation.

"Haha! With this intel, we can finally handle Kinkaku and Ginkaku!" Sarutobi Hiruzen grinned.

Before knowing the intel, they only had about a twenty percent chance of winning.

After gaining the intel, their odds jumped to sixty percent—and that was a conservative estimate...

After all, the brothers only had Kage-level strength because of the Nine-Tails chakra and the Six Paths tools.

Now that they knew how to counter the tools, and could formulate a proper strategy...

The tools lost their threat level, and the half-Tailed Beast transformation from the Nine-Tails chakra could at most boost them to above average elite jōnin level.

With proper coordination, there was now a high chance they could win.

Just as everyone was envisioning their victory, Nara Motoha's words brought them back to reality.

"Renya-jōnin, how did you come by this intel? Are you certain it's accurate?"

He wasn't trying to doubt Renya—this was simply the kind of matter where there could be no room for error.

They had to be absolutely certain the intel was correct!

If the information was wrong, everyone participating in the mission was doomed!

The others also realized how serious this was...

If the intel proved wrong during the mission, it would be the end of them!

"Renya-kun, could you tell us how you came to know this information?" Uchiha Kagami asked softly.

"Yeah, Renya, how did you find out?" Mitokado Homura added.

The remaining three didn't speak, waiting for his explanation.

Facing the probing gazes of the group, Renya shared the explanation he had prepared in advance:

"When I killed one of the Raikage's bodyguards, I used a genjutsu with my Sharingan to extract his memories—this is how I learned the weaknesses of the Six Paths tools."

The Sharingan possessed powerful hypnotic abilities, allowing its user to cast illusions and invade the target's mind.

While performing genjutsu, the caster could manipulate the victim's memories—and in doing so, extract them.

No one questioned the validity of the information further.

They all understood how powerful the Sharingan was, and Renya wouldn't lie about something so serious.

The man he had killed was the First Raikage's personal bodyguard, so it wasn't surprising he knew confidential information.

"Now that we know the weaknesses of the Six Paths tools, we can defeat Kinkaku and Ginkaku!" Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled again.

"It's all thanks to you, Renya-kun..." Uchiha Kagami said with emotion.

Without the intel Renya had provided, defeating the brothers with their Six Paths tools and Nine-Tails chakra would have been nearly impossible.

Koharu Utatane and Mitokado Homura nodded in agreement.

Shimura Danzō didn't say anything—he was busy calculating how much merit he could gain by killing the enemy commander.

Also... would the merits of killing an elite jōnin and a battlefield commander stack?

Kinkaku and Ginkaku were both high-ranking jōnin and the battlefield's commanders—surely their deaths would bring enormous rewards.

As long as he killed those two, he'd be one step closer to becoming the Fourth Hokage!

"Everyone, the decapitation operation is in your hands now!" Commander Nara Motoha swept his gaze across the group, his tone serious. "May you all return victorious!"

Once Kinkaku and Ginkaku were dead, the morale of Kumogakure's forces would plummet.

Then Konoha could turn the tide and go on the offensive!

"Understood!"

The six of them packed their gear and immediately rushed to the battlefield.

They had only one mission this time—to kill Kinkaku and Ginkaku!

...

Konoha's frontline forces were in retreat.

Kinkaku raised the Amber Purifying Pot high. A strange suction force burst forth from the bottle's mouth, distorting the bodies of several Konoha shinobi as they were sucked inside in flashes of light.

"Hehehe, this is too satisfying!"

Kinkaku grinned wickedly as he looked at the terrified Konoha shinobi in the distance.

"Brother, give me the Banana Palm Fan!" Ginkaku said.

"Sure!" Kinkaku tossed the Banana Palm Fan to him.

Ginkaku caught the fan with a feral grin as chakra of all five natures surged toward it.

"You worthless insects—burn to ash!"

He swung the fan fiercely—BOOM!!!

In the distance, the Konoha shinobi were instantly caught in a violent gale, screaming in agony.

Their formation was completely shattered. Severed limbs and blood-soaked bodies rained down from the sky.

The brothers roared with laughter at the carnage.

The thrill of slaughter utterly consumed them—they reveled in it.

From the forest far away, Renya and the others witnessed the brutal massacre with their own eyes.
